At Buggles Early Learning and Kindy Brookfield Place, the rooms are divided up according to the ages of the children. Each area is designed to provide the best possible early learning experience for each child, and to help them develop a love of learning.
A combination of indoor and outdoor activities are planned for the children. The routines arranged by the educators allow for individual learning, small group learning, and large group learning.
Nursery rooms
6 weeks – 24 months
Educators try to provide a home away from home where children feel safe and secure. The children’s wellbeing and development is the focus, with age appropriate activities. Children take part in tummy time, sensory play, reading and singing. The centre has more educators per child in the nursery than other rooms, as they understand the personalised care that little ones need. They also work with the families to fit in with the child’s individual sleeping and feeding routine.
Toddler rooms
2 years – 3 years
Educators encourage the curious toddlers to learn through play, to encourage development. This will take the form of music, dance, games, reading and drama. Group play is designed to develop confidence and social skills such as sharing. Books and language games are enjoyed, to develop communication, literacy and numeracy.
Kindergarten rooms
3 years - 5 years
The children learn through play to encourage development, through music, dance, games, reading and lots of outdoor fun. Educators encourage group play to develop communication, confidence and social skills. Risky play and extra-curricular activities are encouraged in a safe space to build up resilience and independence. A school readiness program focused on numeracy and literacy will help children prepare for the next step in their education. Children lead the curriculum depending on their interests and preferences.
The educators at Buggles Early Learning and Kindy believe in the importance of early education, and have adopted a curriculum that draws inspiration from the Reggio Emilia Approach. This means that they see children as intelligent, curious and valuable individuals. They offer an educational program that is designed to provide children with an environment that delivers multi-sensory stimulation and learning opportunities.
Expressive arts such as sculpture, dramatic play, shadow play, puppetry, dancing, music, painting, ceramics, construction and writing are just some of the ways in which the educators encourage children to learn, socialise and understand the world around them.
The centre is committed to surrounding the children with natural and sustainable materials, within an environment that encourages curiosity, learning and respect. The Centre Manager surrounds themself with the most qualified and experienced staff to provide the best possible education and care for each child. The Centre Manager makes sure that every team member is friendly, welcoming, helpful and supportive; with the personality and compassion needed to give each child the consistent level of care they deserve.
Educators ensure that children feel safe, supported and challenged to learn new things and participate in new experiences. The educators seek to make sure that the environment is inviting, natural, stimulating and engaging, and that it reflects the children’s personalities and interests.
At Buggles Early Learning and Kindy Brookfield Place the educators are committed to providing children with a varied and nutritious meal plan, supported by education on the importance of a healthy diet.
The centre ensures the children are meeting their daily dietary requirements. The menus are developed in accordance with the nutrition checklist by Start Right Eat Right. The children enjoy morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. All meals are prepared fresh daily in the kitchen by experienced kitchen staff and each meal is designed to include a variety of textures, colours and tastes. Dietary, cultural and medical needs are catered for at the centre.
Children who attend a full day at the centre will be offered at least 50 per cent of their recommended daily dietary intake. Children are taught about the benefits of growing food by helping out with the centre’s own vegetable garden.

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
