Curriculum and programs

Curriculum and programs

The educators at Goodstart Early Learning follow an evidence-based curriculum that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. Informed by world-leading research, practices and techniques, the curriculum encourages the children’s natural curiosity and engages them in their learning journey.

As the children move through the different rooms in the centre, the curriculum evolves with them. The educators set goals for the children and celebrate as they reach their milestones. At every stage, the educators are tailoring the curriculum and goals to each child’s individual needs.

The curriculum involves different types of learning experiences and styles. From child-led learning to sessions guided by educators, the children participate in small and large group sessions as well as individual play. Most importantly, the children learn through play, developing social skills, confidence and independence in addition to more formal academic skills.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.

The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.

The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.

So pleased to have found such a warm, community minded centre so close by, we are amazed by the level of care and standard of education, all of the educators go above and beyond. Laurie (21 months, started at 11months) loves going to preschool and we can see why. The day starts with being greeted by an educator, I fill them in on how he has been and anything they should know. We've rarely had tears because he genuinely loves the team and is happy to be there. Outdoor play is plenty which we love, with a good split of structured and free play. Healthy, delicious food (that I don't have to pack?!! Winning!!!) is prepared onsite with attention to his dietary requirements. The toys and resources are such great quality and are clearly well thought out. He comes home every day bursting with new information and words, and stories about his favorite new friends. We can just see how much thought goes into planning each day. Could not praise the team highly enough. Thanks guys.

What an AMAZING centre! I have two children (both in the nursery) and all of the staff & the centre manager Bec are fun & friendly whilst also remaining open & honest. The amount of support they also showed me through the birth of my third child was absolutely amazing. They are also super adaptive to my children’s allergies & the kids come home clean & with no nappy rash! You can really tell that they are taken care of really well. Would highly recommend this centre to anyone.

This is a well managed centre with great staff that really care about the kids. The outdoor areas are great too - quite big with lots of room for the kids to play. Whilst the kids have a lot of play based activities, the centre stays on top of the educational/developmental components as well. The centre also runs several outside of normal hours events for the kids throughout the year, which are great fun for the kids and gives the parents the opportunity to mingle. We have other centres much closer to home, but we wouldn’t think about going anywhere else.
