Located on Kombumerri Country in the heart of Varsity Lakes, Goodstart Burleigh is a welcoming early learning centre where children are supported to feel safe, confident and connected. Conveniently located on Christine Avenue, we're a five-minute walk from Christine Corner shops, two minutes from Frascott Park and close to Varsity College Primary School and Caningeraba State School.
Our greatest strength is our experienced, longstanding team. Our Educational Leader has been at the centre for 24 years, our Assistant Director for more than 16 years, and several educators have been part of our community for around 10 years or more. These familiar faces help children build secure, trusting relationships and give families valuable continuity of care.
Our multicultural educators speak Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Italian and Māori, creating an inclusive environment where different cultures, languages and family backgrounds are valued and celebrated.
Children learn through play-based programs guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, with experiences shaped around their individual interests, strengths and development. Two Bachelor-qualified Kindergarten teachers support children to build the confidence, independence and skills they need for a positive transition to school.
Our Nursery and Kindergarten children also enjoy regular walks through the local neighbourhood, helping them explore their surroundings and connect learning with the wider community.
Many families live nearby and walk or ride to the centre, contributing to our close-knit community feel. Book a tour of Goodstart Burleigh to meet our educators, explore our learning environments and discover how we can support your child's early learning journey.

Benefits of Goodstart Kindergarten/Preschool programs:
The educators at Goodstart Early Learning follow an evidence-based curriculum that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. Informed by world-leading research, practices and techniques, the curriculum encourages the children’s natural curiosity and engages them in their learning journey.
As the children move through the different rooms in the centre, the curriculum evolves with them. The educators set goals for the children and celebrate as they reach their milestones. At every stage, the educators are tailoring the curriculum and goals to each child’s individual needs.
The curriculum involves different types of learning experiences and styles. From child-led learning to sessions guided by educators, the children participate in small and large group sessions as well as individual play. Most importantly, the children learn through play, developing social skills, confidence and independence in addition to more formal academic skills.
Play is the order of the day of Goodstart Early Learning and the programs at the centre are grounded in a play-based approach. The educators embed teaching and learning into play experiences, helping the children to make sense of the world around them. This is how the children learn about how things work and develop important foundational relationships and skills.
The primarily child-directed, play-based curriculum ensures that the children are engaged in their learning. They are encouraged to take the lead, developing their negotiation, risk taking, problem solving and social skills. The educators observe the children and help to challenge them by extending their learning and interests.
The educators recognise that every child is unique and that they bring their own needs, interests and strengths with them each day. The program is designed to be flexible to cater to these differing needs, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive at Goodstart.
Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.
The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.
The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.
Goodstart Early Learning employs qualified and skilled educators who are dedicated to making a difference to the children in their care. The centre employs people who are empathetic and compassionate, with a nurturing disposition and a passion for care. Working collaboratively as a team, the educators display qualities such as positivity, kindness and, most importantly, a desire to help every child thrive.
The educators hold relevant qualifications, including the Kindergarten and Preschool Program teachers who are university qualified. The educators are lifelong learners, participating in regular and ongoing professional development to enhance their skills. They are encouraged to upskill, learning about the latest research and thinking in the sector. They can then bring this knowledge back to the centre to share with their colleagues for the benefit of the children.

I have been very happy with my experience at Goodstart Early Learning Burleigh. The staff are caring, patient and always make me feel comfortable leaving my child in their care. My daughter is always happy to go to daycare and comes home excited to tell me all about the activities she did during the day.<br>I also really appreciate how everyone keep us updated about our child’s day and development. The centre is clean, welcoming and has a lovely environment for children to learn and grow that I would really recommend

Goodstart Early Learning Burleigh is a warm and welcoming centre with an amazing group of staff who show the utmost care for families and their children. The transition into daycare here has been very smooth, and choosing Goodstart — along with the wonderful positive experiences we’ve had since enrolling — has reaffirmed that decision. It has been an amazing experience so far for my little one. Socially, developmentally, and emotionally, he is thriving under the kind and consistent care of the wonderful staff. All of the room teachers are knowledgeable, supportive, and always willing to help. The learning resources and environments are inviting for the children, with a thoughtful mix of natural and processed materials, plenty of outdoor equipment set up each day, and a variety of engaging hands-on learning experiences. Even in our short time here, I can confidently say we are so pleased we chose Goodstart. The centre is also heavily engaged with the local community and consistently shows respect for diverse cultures and the environment.

Have had my son at Goodstart since he was 4 months old. Won’t be going anywhere else. The staff are phenomenal, from the staff at the desk to the educators in each room, I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Goodstart Burleigh staff made me feel comfortable straight away when having a tour of their nursery room. My anxiety was quickly eased as there is clear communication back and forth and lots of reassurance during the day when I leave my baby. The nursery room has a great feel/ atmosphere and was very tidy. My most favourite part are that they do excursions even for babies even if it’s just around the car park. I highly recommend.
