(02) 9160 0340KU Carillon Avenue goes beyond childcare. We create a safe and nurturing environment where childhood is celebrated.
We are proud of our longstanding reputation within the local community of providing rich education and care tailored to each child’s needs in a family-focussed and supportive way.
Our highly experienced and dedicated teachers and educators build strong, trusting relationships with each child, fostering a sense of belonging and confidence.
Our positive and vibrant environment is rich in natural, open-ended resources and spaces for discovery, adventure and exploration.
When children play and explore, their imagination and curiosity are sparked – they enjoy learning, and are inspired to continue learning more.
Our play-based program intentionally provides a wide range of engaging opportunities and activities based on the Early Years Learning Framework.
Since launching our kitchen garden program in 2014, connecting with nature has become integral to our curriculum. Families often cite this and our inviting outdoor spaces as key reasons for joining our community, recognising the importance for children to explore and connect with the natural world.
KU Carillon Avenue has been independently assessed by the NSW Department of Education, and are proud to be rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard.
We believe that the positive interactions children have with our staff are the most important component of our high quality program. Our team of teachers and educators are qualified, experienced, caring and motivated.
Our staff undergo continuous professional development, staying at the forefront of early childhood education.

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy
Childhood
We recognise childhood as a special time in itself; a time for all children to be immersed in secure and trusting environments that allow them to explore, play, discover and learn. We nurture the development of identity, confidence and capability which form the foundations of a lifelong love of learning. We ensure the voices of children contribute to the work that we do and the decisions we make.
Integrity & Relationships
We act with honesty, openness and consistency. Our relationships are respectful, mutual and reciprocal and are built on trust, authenticity and ethical behaviour. We welcome feedback and make decisions that are responsible and fair.
Leadership
We are driven by the passionate pursuit of quality early childhood education and encourage others to share that journey. We lead by example, drawing on our experience and knowledge to shape early childhood education thinking, policy and practice.
Innovation
We have the courage to pursue bold visions of the future. We are committed to continual professional learning and organisational development. We collaborate and explore new ideas and different ways of thinking.
Sustainability
We acknowledge and consider both our heritage and our future. We embrace our responsibilities within the world around us – to our children and communities, our people, our environments and the long term sustainability of our organisation.
Diversity & Inclusion
We recognise that everyone has their own culture, beliefs, values and strengths contributing to our rich and diverse community. We embrace, advocate for, and invest in the rights of all children to access and actively participate in our programs and have a sense of truly belonging.
Programs

Programs
The KU program provides the children with a range of different activities and experiences to support their learning. From gardening to arts and crafts, music, movement and literacy, numeracy and scientific concepts, the program helps to build the children’s confidence as capable and active learners.
At KU Carillon Ave, the specialist Kitchen Garden Program helps to teach the children about caring for their natural environment. The children are involved in all aspects of caring for the garden. They plant and care for vegetables, compost fruit and vegetable scraps and feed the centre animals. Through this they also learn about nutrition, food and cooking.
About the curriculum

About the curriculum
The KU curriculum includes a mix of large and small group experiences that help to build the children’s leadership and communication skills. Through interactive and hands-on activities, the children develop a sense of their unique selves and a feeling of belonging.
The curriculum aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework and the preschool program helps to prepare the children for the transition to school. The educators invite participation, research, inquiry and exploration from the children so they can drive their own learning and develop important critical thinking skills.

We checked out the other centres in Camperdown and chose KU for several reasons. It had a warm community feel, smaller numbers, two outdoor spaces, and rates very well on the government measures. Delighted with our choice and the educators. Keep up the good work! Read more
