Set within a calm, natural setting, we are conveniently located just a short walk from Gawler Railway Station and Main Street, making drop-offs and pick-ups easy for busy families.
With five spacious, age-based learning rooms, children enjoy child-led play and tailored programs that support their development at every stage. Our expansive outdoor areas provide plenty of space to explore, discover and connect with nature. Children love tending to our new vegetable garden and worm farm, building an understanding of sustainability and where food comes from.
Our dedicated, longstanding educators create strong partnerships with families and the local community, ensuring every child feels safe, supported and inspired. Many of our team members have more than 10 years’ experience with Goodstart, offering consistency, trusted relationships and genuine care.

Our high-quality, play based preschool curriculum is delivered by Bachelor qualified Early Childhood Teachers. Our teachers tailor their programs to ensure all children develop the confidence and social and emotional skills needed for a smooth transition to school. Through play, our Early Childhood Teachers facilitate children’s learning of important language, literacy, numeracy and creative skills.

The educators at Goodstart Early Learning follow an evidence-based curriculum that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. Informed by world-leading research, practices and techniques, the curriculum encourages the children’s natural curiosity and engages them in their learning journey.
As the children move through the different rooms in the centre, the curriculum evolves with them. The educators set goals for the children and celebrate as they reach their milestones. At every stage, the educators are tailoring the curriculum and goals to each child’s individual needs.

This is how the children learn about how things work and develop important foundational relationships and skills.
The primarily child-directed, play-based curriculum ensures that the children are engaged in their learning. They are encouraged to take the lead, developing their negotiation, risk taking, problem solving and social skills. The educators observe the children and help to challenge them by extending their learning and interests.
The educators recognise that every child is unique and that they bring their own needs, interests and strengths with them each day. The program is designed to be flexible to cater to these differing needs, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive at Goodstart.
Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.
The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.
The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.
Goodstart Early Learning employs qualified and skilled educators who are dedicated to making a difference to the children in their care. Hi there. I’m Janine and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Gawler South.
I have worked in the in the early learning industry for more than 29 years, starting my career with this company in 1995. I have a Diploma of Children’s Services, and I have been the Centre Director at Gawler South since 2007. My time in the industry has given me the chance to work across all early learning age groups and it has led me to develop a philosophy where we aim to be an early learning environment that values and respects all children, families and educators.
It’s where there is a clear line of communication and a solid relationship that a child is given the best opportunity to grow and develop as a lifelong learner.
I believe the first five years are the most important in any child’s development, and I have great pleasure in helping today's young children to develop the skills to become the strong, independent leaders of our future. I encourage the families at this centre to have a voice, share their ideas and join in the learning with their child.

We’ve had such a lovely experience at Goodstart Gawler South. From the moment you walk in, the entire team - from the front desk to management to the educators - make you feel genuinely welcome and supported. The staff are incredibly kind and patient, especially with our child who needed a little extra time to adjust. They never rushed the process and always took the time to reassure both our child and us, which made such a difference. Communication is thoughtful and reassuring, and the centre has a really warm, nurturing feel. We’re so grateful to the whole team for the care and effort they put in every day. From the moment my son started, Mel, Vicki, Janine, Kylie, Ms Andrea, and every other educator have gone above and beyond to make both him and me feel supported and cared for.
