Developed in line with the Early Years Learning Framework, the Goodstart Lake Munmorah curriculum considers the needs, interests and strengths of each child. The educators tailor the program to ensure every child has a strong foundational learning experience.
School readiness is embedded in the curriculum from the nursery through to the preschool. The educators work with the children to develop their social and emotional skills and encourage their natural curiosity. In the preschool room, the children learn important literacy and numeracy skills that they will use in the years to come at school and beyond.
Our vision is for Australia’s children to have the best possible start in life and our purpose is to ensure children have the learning, development and wellbeing outcomes they need for school and life.
Our Goodstarters are what set us apart - they are guided by our principles and inspired to set new benchmarks for a child's learning and development in the years that count most - the first five years.

Thank you to all the staff at Lake Munmorah Goodstart. You all were amazing and so welcoming. Very sad to have left the centre as my child settled there so easily and comfortably.

My son Ryan is the most precious and spirited part of my life, so when it came time for me to go back to work, finding a centre I deemed suitable for our needs was a very daunting feeling.
We met with the team from Goodstart Lake Munmorah and from the begining we felt like individuals, I knew that Ryan was not going to be just another child on a role! Ryan has developed in the safety of his environment, his peers and the educators who devote themselves to knowing and embracing his spirited, kindhearted and eager personality. I love that Ryan's sense of adventure is supported with wild imaginings and sense of wonderment, yet still educated with exciting tools and perspective. I truly adore that Ryan's educators explore and fearlessly create bigger ways of thinking in our beautiful little people!

The programs at Goodstart Lake Munmorah focus on a range of key areas: sustainability, community and school readiness.
Onsite, the educators teach sustainability awareness through the veggie garden and worm farm compost. With a nature reserve located just next door, the children also go on regular walks and feed the ducks.
The centre has strong connections in the community which provides opportunities for incursions and excursions. Activities include police and fire brigade visits as well as excursions to the local farm.
Goodstart Lake Munmorah has always maintained relationships with local primary schools. The preschool children participate in school visits to prepare for the big step to big school.
I believe in building strong relationships with all families to create a safe and secure environment for all. I am lucky to lead a team of educators who share my passion.
We believe the first 5 years are important and supporting your child’s social and emotional development within the first 5 years is vital to all children.

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
