About Kelso Children's Centre

Welcome to Nurture One Kelso Children’s Centre.

Our care and education service is open from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm and provides quality long day care and education for children aged birth to six years and Before and After School Care and Vacation Care for children aged 5-12 years.

We have purpose built rooms which ensures that everybody gets the most out of their experience here at Kelso. We provide endless opportunities for imaginative play and learning with our well-resourced rooms and natural playscape outdoor areas.

In addition to quality care and education, the centre provides nappies and nutritious meals as part of the fees.

We believe in our children learning the importance of protecting and respecting the environment and we make all attempts to “reduce, recycle and reuse”. We also have a functioning compost bin and worm farm to strengthen our environmental care.

We have a number of herb gardens across all yards and the children and educators grow and tend to these. We have veggie patches that are an integral part of our program. We have second generation Pekin chickens and with the help of the children, we nurture them to ensure we develop an understanding of caring for these cute creatures. They will also work well with the veggie patch to decompose our food scraps and make sure that nothing is wasted.

We welcome you to drop in at any time to learn more.

Flexible Hours

Our centre is offering Flexible Hours to support families to make the most out of the government’s Child Care Subsidy. Consisting of nine-hour, ten-hour, and full day options, the new Flexible Hours model will give families the freedom to choose which hours best suit their individual circumstances. Families will not be limited by start and finish times like other models from competitors, and there will be no associated fees or conditions around the minimum amount of flexible hours days they are able to access. My daughter currently attends this centre and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff are wonderful with her. The cost is pretty standard and includes meals and nappies. My daughter is always happy and well looked after at the centre. The communication is fantastic, we often receive emails about dress-up days and also receive a regular newsletter. The workers always greet you when you arrive, and are more than happy to talk to you about your child, and give a rundown of what you child has been up to for the day. Very happy with this service!!
I have had 4 children go through this lovely centre, which I have seen over the years evolve into such a wonderful, caring service. The staff are warm and friendly, giving you feedback on how your child went each day. The graduation ceremony in particular is such a special occasion and one that is quite obvious of the love and affection the staff have for each and every child that attends the centre. I would highly recommend this centre to any parent considering care for their precious child. The food provided is great, and they always try to accommodate any special requests as well.
