I’ve been hesitant to leave a review, but I feel it’s important to share my experience. I’m really disappointed with my time at this centre. One of the most concerning incidents was a staff member telling me that my Baby (now toddler) was “the worst child she has ever dealt with,” Which I found completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Babies need patience, care, and the chance to build trusting bonds with their educators. This comment, along with my overall experience, raised serious concerns about the level of compassion and care provided at times. There were also constant staff changes, creating a lack of stability and consistency, which is so important for young children to build that bond and trust their careers. I also noticed that a number of staff have their own children attending the centre. While this in itself isn’t an issue, it at times gave the impression that attention may not always have been evenly distributed. On several occasions, I felt that my concerns were dismissed or minimised rather than acknowledged and addressed. This left me feeling unheard and questioning my own judgement, which was incredibly frustrating as a parent advocating for my child. Looking back, I wish I had trusted my instincts and left sooner. As a first-time mum, I tried to stick it out and hoped things would improve. Since leaving, my child is now thriving, which speaks for itself. I hope the centre takes this feedback seriously and ensures staff are better trained in both communication and appropriate childcare practices. *Please note, there were some amazing educators there at times, and I am grateful for the care they did provide.

I am updating my review as it has now changed. I was always one of many to recommend the centre to new friends and on Facebook (as you will see my original review below) however I definitely DO NOT recommend this centre. Over the last few months there has been a management change and since then the centre has deteriorated significantly. Staff turnover is through the roof which means there is no familiar face or consistency for the children. We went from knowing all of the long-term educators, to knowing 5 by the time we had removed our children all within a short period of time. Staff were there one day and gone the next without notice. There have been multiple serious incidents that only the parents of the children involved were aware until a recent parent meeting at the centre and multiple reoccurring issues have come to light. Management have still not been clear on processes in place to prevent this The centre cannot keep a chef for more than a couple of months which meant staff were filling in to prepare meals (whether they had food safety training or not was unknown). There are billing issues where we are overpaying and/or having multiple payments come out in a week. The lack of communication from management is atrocious and it's a usual textbook response or thank you for your feedback. The centre no longer has a family vibe/home away from home. It is such a shame to see it deteriorate as quickly as it did. Multiple families and I dare say a lot more have removed their children from their care as they can no longer be trusted that their children are safe and cared for like previously. I personally would consider other centers and would not take any advice from reviews that are older than six months (from April 2026). I highly recommend Happy Hearts Petrie. After having a terrible experience at another centre in Petrie I was nervous to try another one however my girls absolutely love going to Happy Hearts. All the educators are lovely, are great with the children and genuinely care about them. When you walk in to pick up your kids every educator (even the ones that aren't in the children's room) know where your kids are. The room educators always tell you how their day was and we also get daily updates and photos about their day. The centre has beautiful clean rooms and an awesome outdoor play area. Definitely made the right decision moving our kids we have zero regrets!!

I was always so keen to recommend Happy Hearts Reid Street, and was so proud to be part of the community but the culture has changed.but with the major staff turn over the kids not knowing anyone or who their network is. Multiple issues are wrong with this centre I will never recommend this place to anyone anymore it is a shame because it used to be so good I have pulled my son out now due to supervision issues. I wish this place all the best but definitely don’t believe everything you see. Things are definitely deceiving at this place.

I’ve had a generally positive experience with all the educators at this daycare they are all genuinely kind, caring, and wonderful with the children. You can really tell they put their hearts into what they do, and I appreciate the effort they make every day. However, lately there has been a noticeable increase in staff turnover. Many of the familiar faces have left, and it’s been difficult constantly adjusting to new educators. For children (and parents), consistency is so important, so this has been quite unsettling. It’s also a red flag for staff turnover. There also seems to be instability with staffing in the kitchen, with the chef position not being consistent. At times, educators have had to step in to prepare food, which takes them away from their primary role of caring for the children. It’s disappointing because the centre used to feel much more stable, and since there has been a change, things haven’t felt the same. I truly hope improvements can be made, as the educators themselves are amazing and deserve a supportive, consistent environment to work in. Thanks for looking after my boys. But it’s time for a new adventure for us.

I was always so keen to recommend Happy Hearts Reid Street, and was so proud to be part of the community but the culture has changed. They have just lost the most incredible Kindy teacher, a skilled ECT that prepared kids so wonderfully for their transition into prep. I’m hopeful the staff turnover slows down and we keep what’s left of our fantastic educators as my child is in her final year and has such wonderful friends. Posting a review here so other parents know to beware reviews from before June 2025 as they all speak about staff and a culture that isn’t there any more. By all means tour the centre and make up your own mind, just don’t rely on these reviews. If the culture improves while we’re here I’ll update my review. Edited as at April 2026 - more established staff have left.

I would not recommend this daycare at all. We have been there since 2022 and after continuing to try and resolve issues after issue we have decided to move our son. Management is a complete joke and even though the director has left, there was zero communication about who would be running the centre in her absence. Staffing ratios were consistently out, and on multiple occasions parents were asked to stay at drop off because ratios could not be met. This raised serious concerns about compliance and child safety. There were ongoing health and safety issues, particularly around toileting practices and the handling of infectious outbreaks. Cleaning was inadequate, and illnesses spread frequently with little evidence of proper infection control measures being followed. Confidentiality was breached by educators on more than one occasion, which is completely unacceptable in a childcare setting. Incidents involving children were reported regularly, yet staff would claim they “didn’t see it happen,” despite these issues occurring repeatedly. There has been no qualified chef for over six months. Educators have been expected to prepare meals despite not holding food safety certifications, which is another serious health and safety concern. Billing has been a constant problem, with repeated overcharging and no clear explanations provided. This centre is the most expensive in the area, yet there is a noticeable lack of resources and materials for the children. Communication was also very poor. New educators often did not introduce themselves or engage with families, making it difficult to build trust. Additionally, there was ongoing bullying in the pre-kindy room throughout the year by an educator’s child, which was repeatedly raised and never adequately addressed. Overall, the combination of safety issues, lack of accountability, poor communication, and high fees makes this centre extremely disappointing. Families deserve far better care, transparency, and professionalism than what is offered here.

My family and I have loved moving to Happy Heart Reid Street. We moved there after our previous daycare, we didn’t like. At happy hearts to educators are really friendly. They’re approachable and take time talk to you every day about how your child’s day was and if there was anything to pass on. All the staff are lovely and you can tell they all love being there.
