About

Gumnut childcare Centre will provide a positive and nurturing space for children and their families, offering continuity of children’s care by supportive and experienced educators to provide a learning environment conducive to optimal learning outcomes for children. Program and practice is undertaken as a transparent process that remains accessible to parents and families always. ‘Belonging, Being and Becoming’: The Early Years Learning Framework, recognises holistic approaches as acknowledging the interplay of a child’s mind, body and spirit as the foundation for development through focusing attention on children’s physical, personal, social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing as well as cognitive aspects of learning. Gumnut Childcare also acknowledges the importance of a holistic approach regarding early childhood development, therefore it will be embedded in our practice and be evident as an underlying principle to our practice.

We have 4 rooms with set full time and part time qualified educators. Whilst we specify age groups in the list below, the progression of children to each room is dependent on their physical, emotional, cognitive and social development.

  • Nursery  – 6 weeks – 2 Years
  • Toddler 1 – 2years – 3years
  • Toddler 2 – 3 Years – 4 Years
  • Pre-Kinder – Years – 6 Years

At Gumnut Child Care Centre, we have an open door policy and we now also supply Nappies.

Gumnut Childcare Centre is offering Flexible Hours to support families to make the most out of the government’s Child Care Subsidy. Consisting of eight-hour, nine-hour, ten-hour, and full day options, the new Flexible Hours model will give families the freedom to choose which hours best suit their individual circumstances. Families will not be limited by start and finish times like other models from competitors, and there will be no associated fees or conditions around the minimum amount of flexible hours days they are able to access.

This centre is amazing! The staff here are the most passionate, caring, supportive and encouraging bunch of educators you will find anywhere! I love the fact they are industry leaders in many aspects of early education and are continuously looking to improve. The educators are all wonderful and the attention they give to all the children is fantastic. I also love that they incorporate so much learning into their outdoor play and the facilities both inside and out are great! I highly recommend this centre to anyone seeking care for their little ones!!

My daughter currently attends this centre in the nursery and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I love that I’m always greeted and acknowledged and so are my children . The nursery is welcoming and has a lovely home feeling to it . The staff are wonderful with her. The cost is really affordable and the centre is very flexible with me pickup up extra days and now they offer flexible days and the fee’s includes meals and nappies. My daughter is always happy and well looked after at the centre. I like that my child enjoys going to the park and to the library with her educators. The communication is fantastic, we often receive emails about dress-up days and also receive a regular newsletter and now received the photos via kindyhub. The workers always greet you when you arrive and pickup , and are more than happy to talk to you about your child, and give a rundown of what you child has been up to for the day. Very happy with this service and highly recommend

The Staff here are too quick to do Mandatory Reports to Child Services (Doc's) I know they have done quite a few of them against perfectly normal families. They feel empowered when they perform one of these trumped up reports and so I feel they purposely look for and create problems with the children in their care. I have overheard them berating mothers of so politely! for medical neglect when their little boy just had a runny nose. I suspect they send sometimes send the babies home early with another trumped up excuse of 'apparent' sickness so they can be more profitable by employing less Staff on site for the Staff/Child ratio- more profits without any apparent regard for the parents work day agenda. My nephew started big School last year at Cooerwul so we no longer need to use this Centre. I feel sorry for any parents attending because of the shenanigans that go on here.
