Welcome to Deer Park Early Learning and Kindergarten

Welcome to Deer Park Early Learning and Kindergarten!

Deer Park Early Learning and Kindergarten provides children aged 6 weeks to 5 years with a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment. With an inclusive approach to education, the educators teach a play-based curriculum that ensures each child can thrive in their early years. The centre is embedded in the local community, which helps to ensure a holistic and positive experience for every child.

The brand new, modern facilities have been purpose-built to support the children’s learning. The inside learning spaces – with separate rooms for each age group – are light and bright, designed for quiet and active play as well as individual and group activities.

Outdoors, the children can run, jump and play as they develop their physical and gross motor skills. There is a large sandpit with a shade sail to protect the children from the sun. They can also slide, climb, paint, water play and more.

Located in a leafy residential street, the centre is a short walk from Ballarat Road bus stops. Parents can also use the convenient on-site parking for easy pick up and drop off. Why not book a tour of this modern and nurturing centre today?

Centre philosophy

“The desire to belong, be accepted and contribute to their world is at the heart of children's behaviour. These principles underpin our educational philosophy.

Positive behaviour guidance

Children respond best to positive guidance and encouragement towards acceptable behaviour. Our educators help each child understand and express their feelings and opinions and take responsibility for their actions.

Valuing children's voices

Every child is different, with a unique personality shaped by their experiences, family unit and community/culture. We value each child's voice and perspective. We listen to them and encourage them to make decisions about their learning.

Positive reinforcement

We recognise children's efforts rather than only the finished product. This helps children feel good about themselves and eager to embrace new learning opportunities. We encourage children to contribute and share responsibility for age-appropriate tasks. This gives children a sense of importance and a feeling of belonging to their early learning community.

Trusted, collaborative partnerships

We value every child and family and our fellow educators, treating them with respect and understanding and building positive partnerships. This helps strengthen the bridge between home and our early learning environment. We regularly share and exchange information with parents on our programs and practices. In doing so, we recognise that each educator and family has a unique philosophy on education and child-rearing that must be listened to and respected. This collaborative, open and flexible approach helps children feel safe and secure in their learning environment, enabling them to learn to their full potential.”

The builder of this building burnt down a heritage listed church that was on this site. It is now the centre's car park.

Response from the owner 06 May 2024

Hi X, thanks for the information on the history of the site. Unfortunately as a tenant we have no knowledge of the history of the site until we became tenants. We hope to make many happy memories for the children and families who now utilise the service.
