Mullaway Pied Piper Preschool aims to provide distinctiveness that arises for the unique attributes of our centre, families and communities which is a child focused approached.
We acknowledge the local Gumbaynggirr people and pay respect to past and present elders of which our services lays. We thank the northern Gumbaynggirr people as the care takers of the gaagal (ocean) and land and honour all the children as future custodians.
Our philosophy has been inspired and guided by our knowledge of current research, The Early Childhood Association Code of Ethics, The National Quality Standards and The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia - Belonging, Being and Becoming 2009:
• Belonging – acknowledges children’s interdependence with others (family, a cultural group, a neighbourhood and a wider community) and the basis of relationships in defining identities.
• Being – recognises the importance of the here and now in children’s lives.
• Becoming – reflects the process of rapid and significant change that occurs in the early years.
We believe that each child, family and educator is a unique and a valued individual. We value and honour diversity and accept and celebrate differences in other people. We believe each person and their family’s values, culture, beliefs, abilities and language should be acknowledged and accepted and reflected in the preschool’s environment.
