Ornella has an excellent safety record as a result of a stringent Child Safe Scheme that is based on the National Child Safe Standards. 

There are many ways Kidzspot manages safety; from practices on digital protection to mandatory reporting requirements, the service has policies in place to ensure that children are never left alone with an adult, and that they are cared for only by fit and proper educators who have undergone strict screening processes. 

Safety is not just about having policies in place, it is about ensuring that safety-first and zero tolerance are embedded as part of the workplace culture.

Hello, I’m Kanika Verma, the Centre Manager at Kidzspot Ornella in Glendenning. As a childcare professional, my passion lies in the freedom to create and bring to life different teaching techniques. Every child learns in their own way and in their own time so it is very important to create opportunities that capture the different ways children learn and process information. 

At Kidzspot Ornella, we offer a more personal approach; we know all our families on a one-on-one basis, and we offer an inclusive and individualised program where each child and team member is respected and embraced. 

I believe in creating a safe, loving environment where each child is valued and encouraged to grow. I am a strong advocate of recognising the importance of early childhood in shaping future success, prioritising holistic development, fostering strong relationships and developing a sense of belonging. By promoting play as a crucial learning tool, we give our children the opportunity to experience learning through all aspects of the program; from mealtime to rest time, every opportunity is an opportunity to learn.

As a leader, I am committed to ensuring that my centre focuses on the well-being and growth of every child. The well-being of everyone in my care, the children and my team alike, is my main priority because growth only takes place when we feel safe, valued and inspired.

Kidzspot Ornella runs 3 age-specific learning programs that target each age group's learning and developmental needs. All programs are based on play-based learning that involves exploration, experimentation and creativity as children build a deeper understanding of the world. Play-based learning is key to development in language, cognitive skills, self-regulation, and social-emotional skills. 

MiNi Spotz I A MiNi Spot is a 2 to 3 year old junior toddler. They're becoming social and like to play with other children. They can eat on their own, wash their hands properly and are usually toilet trained.
A MiNi Spot learns about speech, language and literacy. They can stick to a routine and need set times for meal, rest and play every day. 

MiGHTY Spotz I A MiGHTY Spot is 3 to 4 years old. They are pretty independent and can do most things on their own, like dress, and pack their own bags. They love imaginative play and taking part in drama activities. They can also scribble and do some 'early writing', play with puzzles and games. A MiGHTY Spot also gets to do Show and Tell where they learn about public speaking! 

PREP Spotz I A PREP Spot is over 4 years old and in the final stage of childcare. They are our pre-schoolers enrolled in the School Readiness Program that prepares them for kindergarten. 

The School Readiness Program is integrated into daily activities; it is comprehensive, inclusive, dynamic and it exposes young learners to a variety of experiences that are similar to the school environment. Pre-School at KiDZSPOT

Ages 4 - 5 is all about accelerated learning as children are in the final stage of their pre-school development. From Day 1, everything we do is to build their skills for the next stage of life so by about age 4, they’re ready to start the School Readiness Program.

Getting ready for kindergarten is a very big part of any child’s life and we want it to be exciting smooth and safe. Children need to have a sense of security and healthy expectancy as they get ready to start ‘big school’. Our School Readiness Program helps children master academic skills for the new educational setting whilst ensuring they are also emotionally and socially ready for the great milestone that is school. 

Our School Readiness curriculum has been designed by qualified curriculum developers working in consultation with local schools. It is integrated into daily activities; it is comprehensive, inclusive, dynamic and it exposes young learners to a variety of experiences that are similar to the school environment.

Food and nutrition is an integral part of the general program. Mealtimes are not just about being fed, there are two key elements that go into how we do food: the first is around educating children about food so they can grow to understand the impact diet has on our overall well-being. By exposing children to good food and good eating habits, we are establishing the right eating practices that should stay with them for life. The second is the social aspect of food. By creating positive experiences around mealtimes, we are shaping how children master social norms around eating and dining.

Kidzspot provides 5 meals a day. Our meals are prepared and delivered by Kids Gourmet Food to each centre every day. Working with childhood nutritionists and dieticians, Kids Gourmet Food has qualified chefs who create menus for all age groups, including puree menus for babies as young as 4 months old.

In accordance with the Australian Dietary Guidelines, meals contain a variety of food from the 5 main food groups: fresh vegetables and legumes, seasonal fruits, wholegrains and seeds, lean fresh meat and fish, and dairy options. Menus rotate every 6 weeks to give children variety and diversity at mealtimes.

Different dietary requirements

Protecting children with food allergies is a top priority. Meals are suitable for any dietary requirement, including vegetarians or those with cultural or religious preferences.
