Imagine Childcare & Kindergarten Oakleigh South is located a convenient 17 kilometres from Melbourne’s Central Business District. Our centre has been founded on the promise of creating a home-away-from-home for our families. An inspring childcare centre, that nurtures your little one and encourages them to learn, live, and explore.
Our childcare centre focuses on early education, and we embrace the developmental milestones of children aged 6 weeks through to 5 years old. With areas and classrooms created to stimulate and inspire specific age groups, we offer parents the guarantee that your child will be engaged socially, mentally, and physically through activities and play relevant to their age and capabilities. We also offer 3 and 4 Year Old Kindergarten Programs to prepare your child for primary school.
Our centre is conveniently located just a 2 minute drive from both Clarinda Primary School and Oakleigh South Primary School. We have plenty of onsite parking too, for convenience at pick up and drop off times.

At Imagine Childcare & Kindergarten Oakleigh South, the Educators believe the early years of a child’s life are a time of incredible growth and opportunity. This is where young children begin to build a foundation of learning and independence that helps to assist them to become confident lifelong learners.
It is important that everything a child experiences becomes a valuable learning opportunity, as this forms the basis of their development, learning, and wellbeing for the rest of their life.
The Educators believe children learn most effectively when they are relaxed and having fun in a safe and protected learning environment. They aim to recognise the importance of these early years, and aim to provide an appropriate environment that is safe, relaxed, warm and nurturing, whilst ensuring each child, family and Educator feels a sense of belonging.
The Educators at Imagine Childcare & Kindergarten Oakleigh South believe that play develops dispositions necessary for learning in the future. Children need to develop their sense of curiosity, creativity, resilience and cooperation to become confident learners. These can be achieved through play experiences such as exploration, investigation, and socio-dramatic play which are then furthered by Educators’ interaction.

At Imagine Childcare & Kindergarten Oakleigh South, the children enjoy a wide variety of seasonal and local produce, with a menu that provides more than half of their daily nutrition requirements. The centre works in consultation with families to accommodate any child’s allergies, intolerances, their cultural background or other family preferences.
Mealtimes provide an important opportunity for children to develop good eating habits and learn about nutrition and food variety. They are also an important time for social interaction with other children and adults.
The Educators adopt meal time strategies to teach children about good nutrition. These include things like involving children in creating the menu, encouraging younger children and toddlers to talk about healthy food choices, providing children with opportunities to eat food and engage in the mealtime routines of different cultures, talking with children about nutritious food during mealtimes.
Some of the children’s favourite lunches include Moroccan pork on couscous, beef empanadas with fresh garden salad, spaghetti bolognese, and Thai chicken curry with rice. The parents don’t miss out either, with the centre’s own barista providing fresh coffee and a baked treat every morning upon drop-off to make mornings easier.
Morning
Simone is nine months old and starts her day outside in the play area with her Educator and friends. Her Mum enjoys a coffee and chats to the Educators before she heads off to work.
Lunchtime
Simone is enjoying some books with her favourite Educator, while she has some milk. Soon it will be time to head into the sleeping area for a rest.
Afternoon
All of the children are outside today for a special visit from some farm animals. Simone pats a duck and a little lamb.
Morning
Josh is two and a half years old and can’t wait for the toddler’s excursion to the Oakleigh Fire Station. Josh walks with his friends and they talk about sitting in the truck and turning on the siren.
Lunchtime
Josh and his friends head outside to the playground for some afternoon fun. The children make the most of the equipment with lots of climbing and jumping, before they start riding the bikes.
Afternoon
All of the toddlers sit together on the mat for storytime with the local librarian who has come to visit. She reads three stories to the children and then invites them to draw a picture of their favourite part.
Morning
Emma is four and a half years old and today the children are going on an excursion to the local aged care facility. Emma has some drawings to give to the residents and the children have prepared a song to sing.
Lunchtime
Today Emma is helping the centre chef with some cooking for the children’s afternoon tea. She sprinkles cheese on top of the scrolls and then watches as the chef bakes them in the oven.
Afternoon
Emma and her friends head outside for some fun on the equipment. Emma digs in the sandpit with her friend and then they use the sand to make a village for their toys.

Our little one goes here for the last 7 months to date. Best decision we ever made, as he loves the educators and is learning in leaps and bounds. He comes home with an ever expanding vocabulary. The children eat well there, the 3A activities provide some structured sound early education learning, but allows room for imagination and play. My boy comes home with beautiful artwork, the recent Mother’s Day gift was so thoughtful, sweet and delightful (artwork to cherish, cookies and a gorgeous rose.) I love the cultural festivities - Chinese New Year, Mother’s Day, book week dress ups, etc. It’s a centre that truly really cares for the children, is well communicative with parents and very receptive to our feedback and ideas. Thank you to all the educators who work tirelessly in all the rooms. When you enrol your child, (much to my surprise) all the centre educators seemed to know my child, not just his teachers in the toddler / junior kinder room. A big thank you to Leah and Abi for keeping the show running like a smooth, well oiled machine. ❤️

We moved our daughters to Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten to ensure they were school ready and receiving quality education and care. This centre exceeded our expectations in many ways. The staff, in addition to the education they provide, are polite, friendly and always willing to talk to us about anything (no matter how big or small the matter is). We are always greeted with a friendly hello from one of the educators, teachers, leadership team or chef. The families are lovely and we have made great connections through this centre. Finally, and most critically, our children are never bored, learn a lot from literacy and numeracy to life skills and we have noticed a marked improvement with getting our children ready for primary school in the short time we have been with this centre. Leah and Abi operate the centre incredibly well, with clear communication and expectations to ensure a safe environment for the kids. We highly recommend Imagine (and especially the Oakleigh South centre) to any families wishing to enrol their child- you won’t regret it!
