I genuinely believed I was doing the right thing by enrolling my children in this “wonderful big daycare.” Sadly, I couldn’t have been more wrong. It was a huge mistake, and one that I feel deeply let my children down. There were multiple instances where we were disappointed, but the final and most serious incident was when our three-year-old was locked in a storage room for approximately 30 minutes. He was eventually found by another parent, screaming and extremely distressed. This meant head counts were missed, which is completely unacceptable and a serious breach of safety. Management is run by very young and inexperienced individuals who appear unprepared to manage a childcare business professionally. Staff are permitted to speak to parents in a disrespectful manner, and there is a clear lack of leadership and accountability. This centre urgently needs experienced, mature management. Staff turnover is constant, which creates instability for both children and families. The centre also fails to use its space effectively; children are routinely herded into small fenced areas because there are not enough staff to supervise the larger environment safely. Throughout our time there, we felt harassed and bullied by this franchise rather than supported. I strongly encourage parents to support privately owned daycares, where care feels personal, children are truly valued, and families are treated with respect—because that’s where it actually feels like community and genuine care.

Absolute love this daycare! We sought out something a little different after finding a traditional daycare wasn’t suiting our very energetic toddlers needs, and 2 months in he is absolutely thriving in his new bush kindy environment and we are seeing such positive changes in our little man! Highly recommend 😍

My children have been attending Capers for a few weeks now and I’m so glad we made the change! I can leave my children in the care of these lovely ladies and now my children are in safe and loving hands. The menu is that of a 5 star hotel and has improved my children’s eating habits tenfold. I’m so grateful for this alone. My daughter is experiencing health issues at the moment at the ladies have been so kind and understanding. I can’t speak highly enough of this centre and I’m so proud to tell people where my kids go to school. The chickens in the bush kindy were definitely the cherry on top for my boy!

Capers Pumicestone has been absolutely wonderful for our son. The educators are caring, attentive, and genuinely invested in the children’s growth and well-being. We’ve seen so much development in his confidence, communication, and learning since starting here. The centre is always clean, organised, and filled with creative activities. Seeing him embrace the outdoors environment makes us so happy as he is in his element when outside in nature. We feel so comfortable knowing he’s in such a nurturing and supportive environment. Highly recommend Capers Pumicestone to any family looking for quality early childhood education!

Capers Pumicestone is a beautiful centre that nurtures children. This is my children’s first time in care and we have had such a smooth transition thanks to the staff and the level of care and education they provide. The environment is everything a child could wish for!

Our family can’t wait for the opening of this beautiful bush kindy. Located in a very convenient area, surrounded by gum trees and other native flora. Learning and playing through nature in a safe environment is what our family was looking for
