Programs

Programs

Mini Masterminds sees innovation as a driver for development in our Minis. The inclusive extra-curricular activities encourage diversity and inclusion, ensuring every child feels accepted as they play and learn.

Our Minis have access to the latest equipment to encourage creative free play and holistic development. All activities are included as part of the daily fee, including:

Sports Program: For our Minis aged 3 and up, the centre offers the ‘Mini Champions’ sports program. This encourages our Minis to gain fitness regardless of their athletic ability, and helps build self-esteem and confidence.

Language Program: Our Minis are taught languages from native speakers at the centre, further developing and strengthening their cognitive function, problem-solving skills and cultural awareness.

Cooking Program: Our Minis can take part in the ‘Mini Chefs’ cooking class, a fun hands-on class that encourages children to experiment in the kitchen while learning about basic cooking techniques and smart food choices. These classes teach kitchen safety, food preparation and proper food handling practices.

Yoga Program: Each week our Minis aged 2 and up take part in ‘Mini Yoga Club’ at the centre. This practice is associated with learning, memory and regulating emotions, and it helps our Minis to learn positivity and self-acceptance.

Regular Excursions: Our Minis can extend their learning outside of the centre by taking part in excursions. Some examples include the Easter Show and visiting local parks for a picnic day.

In-House Incursions: Special visitors to the centre can share a wealth of knowledge with our Minis, as they can learn, discover and explore new and exciting things. Some incursions include native wildlife and reptile visits, petting zoos, dentists visits and cultural exploration with visits from Indigenous artists

Meet Mia – Centre Director at Mini Masterminds Sydney Olympic Park

"Being a mum and a childcare director means I get to shape little hearts at home and at work. It’s more than a job - it’s a chance to make a real difference in children’s lives." – Mia

Hi, I’m Mia, Centre Director at Mini Masterminds Sydney Olympic Park. With both professional experience and a parent’s perspective, I’m passionate about creating a space where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn every day.

Our centre offers an environment where community, connection, and learning thrive. What makes our centre truly special is the strong sense of community and the rich educational environment we’ve built together with our families.

Our spacious outdoor areas are a highlight, giving children plenty of room to explore, play, and develop their physical skills. We have separate, age-appropriate outdoor spaces, including a dedicated area just for our youngest learners (0–2 years), allowing each child to grow at their own pace.

Inside and out, we provide engaging learning opportunities across key developmental areas such as language and literacy, numeracy, creativity, emotional development, and wellbeing.

With a dedicated and nurturing team, our goal is to make each child’s early learning journey meaningful and memorable - every step of the way.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

As a family-owned and operated centre, Mini Masterminds builds strong connections with centre families and the wider community.

By taking a collaborative approach with parents and the community, the centre encourages diversity and inclusion. This ensures that every Mini feels accepted and part of the Mini Masterminds ‘family’.

Parent feedback helps inform programs, which aim to build confident, independent and active learners. The centre invites families to drop in and speak to our Educators. Families also participate in special events and cultural celebrations throughout the year.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

In addition to the National Curriculum, Mini Masterminds is proud to have developed a bespoke Curriculum in consultation with well-regarded Early Childhood Teacher, Jacob Camilleri.

Central to this is a unique Prep School Program which exposes children to the NSW Foundation Font. It focuses not just on the Early Years Framework but also the Early Stage 1 Curriculum. By merging the Prep School and Kindergarten lessons, our Minis will have a head start when it comes to their formal schooling.

The focus of the Curriculum is on play-based learning, which ensures each Mini develops, understands and takes responsibility at their own pace. The centre does away with the dated early learning methods of set lesson plans. Instead, it embraces individuality, personal growth and current abilities, allowing each Mini to comfortably develop in a warm, secure and supportive environment.

The centre’s programs allow for our Minis to move freely around the activities, making their own unique choices, while ensuring that all key learning areas are promoted and explored. The overall aim of the Curriculum is to develop each Mini's independence, while fostering confidence in communication and learning.

Mini Masterminds Betty Cuthbert Avenue has been such a positive and nurturing place for our son, Billy, and we are incredibly grateful for the care and dedication of the team there. From the very beginning, the teachers have been incredibly helpful in establishing routines for Billy that align closely with what we do at home. They offer thoughtful advice, genuinely listen to parents, and always take into account both the child’s and family’s individual needs. Miss Mia, the Centre Director, is fantastic — she leads with warmth and professionalism, and it’s clear she supports her staff exceptionally well. Billy’s room leaders and teachers, have been absolutely wonderful! When Billy first started, he experienced severe separation anxiety and cried every time I left him for nearly four months. The staff handled this with such empathy, patience, and care. They kept me reassured with regular phone updates and thoughtful mentions in the parent app’s daily posts, which made such a difference during that challenging transition. The communication from the centre is outstanding. The app updates are detailed and consistent, covering meals, toileting, sleep, photos, and any incidents if needed, which gives parents real peace of mind. The sleeping arrangements are also excellent — in the baby room they have cots, and as children transition out of cots they provide little floor stretchers, which made Billy’s move from cot sleeping seamless and stress-free. The facilities themselves are wonderful, with plenty of space for children to play, explore, learn, and simply be kids. The centre also creates such a lovely sense of community by hosting special events where parents, grandparents, and family members can attend, such as Easter, Halloween, and Christmas celebrations. They also thoughtfully acknowledge and celebrate cultural occasions like Diwali and Ramadan, which reflects their inclusive and respectful environment. Another standout is the food — the chef is absolutely fantastic. The meals are healthy, nutritious, beautifully prepared, and well-rounded, and Billy always enjoys them. It’s reassuring knowing he is being fed such quality food each day. What stands out most is how much Billy has grown since attending Mini Masterminds. He has come out of his shell, become more social, started making friends, and even his eating and sleeping have improved. Seeing him now happily give his teachers high fives and cuddles says everything about how safe, loved, and comfortable he feels there. The consistent rostering of familiar staff has been key in helping Billy build trust and confidence, and it’s clear that the educators truly care about each child. You can genuinely tell the staff love what they do and love the children in their care. They also actively seek parent feedback and, importantly, implement it — which makes families feel truly heard and valued. We are so thankful for the wonderful role these lovely educators play in Billy’s life and ours. Mini Masterminds is exceptional because of its amazing staff, and I highly recommend this centre to any family looking for a caring, communicative, supportive, and inclusive early learning environment.
