Our vision is for Australia’s children to have the best possible start in life and our purpose is to ensure children have the learning, development and wellbeing outcomes they need for school and life.
Our Goodstarters are what set us apart - they are guided by our principles and inspired to set new benchmarks for a child's learning and development in the years that count most - the first five years.
- Goodstart team
Goodstart Caulfield provides the children with a holistic program designed to engage them in all aspects of learning and growth. From daily yoga sessions to cooking experiences and reptile incursions, every child is nurtured to develop their individual interests and strengths.
With a strong focus on sustainability, the children also tend to the centre veggie garden. Community walks and the Bush Kinder program further embed this learning and give the children an understanding of caring for the environment.
Based on the Early Years Learning Framework, the curriculum at Goodstart Caulfield is designed to be flexible to meet the needs of each child. The educators cater to the different stages of development and provide the children with play-based learning activities that will help them to thrive.
My Philosophy is to provide children with a happy, safe and stimulating environment. I am passionate about giving more opportunities to children where they are encouraged to learn, create, imagine, discover, problem solve and play. I strongly believe that a quality early learning experience in the first years of life will have an enduring impact on children and their wellbeing. I also believe that ongoing communication with families is necessary to create a positive environment for our children.
I always make sure that the operation of the service is running professionally, effective and to the benefit of the children, educators, and the families in our care. I work with a great team and together we provide high quality education and care for all the children at our Early Learning Centre.

With a commercial kitchen onsite, the centre cook prepares the children’s meals fresh each day. This includes a light breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.
The children often engage with the cook thanks to the child-height servery. They watch their food being prepared, ask questions about the ingredients and learn about eating a nutritious range of wholesome foods.

Pre-school / Kindergarten / PrepPre-school is a planned educational program for children in the years before a child commences school. Children are usually aged between 3 and 5 years of age. Pre-school may take place in a range of settings including a purpose built building, in a community setting, a school, as part of a long day care centre or a mobile or visiting service.
In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
