Welcome to Community Kids Glenella.
Our early learning centre provides a rich nurturing environment for children between the ages of six weeks to six years and is open from 6:30am to 6:30pm.
Our educators are trained and experienced in early childhood development and our centre is designed and equipped to meet the unique needs of children in each appropriate age range. We have a passionate and dedicated team of educators, some of which have been at the centre more than ten years.
Individual children’s cultural, religious and nutritional needs are catered for and we encourage communication from parents who like to check in on their child’s progress throughout each day.
Our centre has a major focus on sustainability and community and cultural involvement.
The centre has a sustainability Officer who supports the educators and takes pride in the centres outdoor environment which includes fruit trees, vegetable and herb gardens, native plants, natural elements, worm farm, compost bird feeders and the very well-loved pets, our chickens, our bird, our guinea pig and a selection of underwater species. All, of which the children are actively involved in caring for and feeding.
Our Community Cultural Officer has strong relationships and connections with the wider community and ensures that excursions and Incursions are ongoing and reflective of our curriculums.
As well as nappies, we provide breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack all prepared by our friendly centre cook who ensures that a healthy and nutritious menu plan is available for all children. Where possible local suppliers are used to purchase food for the centre.
To reduce our carbon footprint on the environment we use KINDYHUB as a two way communication tool and system that stores the childrens individual learning and development along with our centre curriculums. We welcome you to contact us or drop in to meet our team and learn more about this great centre.

Flexible Hours

Our centre is offering Flexible Hours to support families to make the most out of the government’s Child Care Subsidy. Consisting of nine-hour, ten-hour, and full day options, the new Flexible Hours model will give families the freedom to choose which hours best suit their individual circumstances. Families will not be limited by start and finish times like other models from competitors, and there will be no associated fees or conditions around the minimum amount of flexible hours days they are able to access. The team there are amazing! They’ve made a point of welcoming not only our son but our family into the centre. They strive to make strong connections between home and the centre through open and honest communication. Our child’s educator really places emphasis on incorporating the children's interests into learning experiences that are offered - she brings the real world to the children. She even set up a camp ground in the classroom for all of the avid campers, wilderness warriors and fishermen/women (my son being one of them) was one of the most amazing set ups I have ever seen. The team always listen to our concerns and we trust their professional opinions. My son settled in so quickly and connected quite well to the educators. My son has turned into a happy, out-going, confident and clever little learner. At times, he doesn't want to come home because he's too busy learning and playing. He talks about his "friends" and sings all the classic songs that he is being taught there. On the way home in the car, he is full of chatter of what he has done in his day and requests to go to daycare on the weekend. Community Kids has helped to re-discover our son's vibrant spirit and we will be forever grateful to them.
Would like to say that my son has now become a happier child from been at this childcare centre, his language skills are out off control and the signing he has leant is great. His educator Miss Jade is very good at her job and has helped my son improve is social skills. Thanks for all you have done for him in such a small time frame.
