Bush Kindy Being Outside with Nature icon

Bush Kindy Being Outside with Nature

Connection To Country Connection to Country happens three days a week at Learning Avenues for our Preschool Learners. Our highly passionate and trained forest school educators invite 10 curious children to join them in an adventure, exploring nature in a different way. An important part of childhood is being outside in nature. At Learning Avenues, we believe childhood is precious and we acknowledge that an important part of childhood is being outside in nature. We know that children are natural learners who embrace every opportunity to explore. We recognise that children need more unstructured time outside and this knowledge is supported by research. We view our connection to Country explorations as an extension of our learning communities. The unique experience of Bush Kindy provides uninterrupted time in a rich natural environment that is ideal for children. When children engage in this type of play in peer groups, they experience opportunities for play that are not always seen when playing within the service learning environments. Children become curious of their environments, sparking deep thinking opportunities that later allow them to transfer their thinking from one setting to another.

We also have security cameras within the service.

Our Community, Relationships & Our Team

Here at Learning Avenues, we aim to build a ‘Village Mindset’. We believe that everyone is important and valued and plays a vital role in creating the unique community that thrives to support, learn and grow from each other. We see educators as the researchers of children’s play; thus, documenting with professionalism, respect and importance becomes the framework for quality. Our Village ensures a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging bravery, curiosity and innovation amongst teams and management. This team effort allows our practices to be an authentic reflection of our collective knowledge and values.

Learning Avenues Early Education, Care and Kindergarten in Merrimac is an amazing centre. The educators are caring, professional, and genuinely invested in each child’s learning and wellbeing. The environment is welcoming, engaging, and well set up to support both play-based learning and development. Communication with families is excellent, and it’s clear the team puts a lot of thought into creating a safe, nurturing space where children can thrive. The programs are well planned, and it’s reassuring to see how much attention is given to individual needs and growth. I highly recommend Learning Avenues to any family looking for a supportive, high-quality early learning centre

My son Connor has been attending Learning Avenues for a few months now. In his previous kindy environment, he really struggled with regulation, making friends, safe choices ect. Since coming to Learning Avenues, Connor is a completely different child. He is SO HAPPY, he has made so many friends, and the environment is just perfect for him. ALL STAFF work so closely together to ensure you and your family are supported, always. I have not come across a kindy that has such an amazing energy and somehow, they managed to get the best staff, that care more than you could ever hope for. I cannot recommend this kindy more. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for myself, Connor and our family.
