Programs
Designed to be fun and engaging, the program at Taigum Child Edu-Care Centre helps the children to build their self-confidence and understand the world around them. The program makes the most of both the indoor and outdoor learning environments and incorporates a mix of child-led and educator-directed activities.
The Kindergarten Program, funded by the QLD government, helps to prepare the children for the transition to primary school. The educators follow the children’s interests and needs, planning activities that help to build their skills and challenge their thinking. The hands-on program is prepared in consultation with local schools to ensure the children are well-supported in their learning before school.
The centre also runs a sustainability program to provide opportunities for the children to connect with the natural environment in a meaningful way. The children learn to respect nature and the importance of caring for the planet. This program also supports their creative expression and wellbeing.

Morning
Zoe arrives at the centre in the morning, ready to explore the outdoors. She is a very active 11-month-old and loves to get her hands dirty as she plays in the leaves.
Lunch
At lunch time, Zoe enjoys trying to feed herself. She is developing her independence and is always trying to do things without help from her educators.
Afternoon
Before she goes home, Zoe enjoys some music time. Her educators sing songs and hold percussion instruments while Zoe bops along to the beat, clapping her hands.
Morning
Byron is a shy 2-year-old. It sometimes takes him time to warm up when he arrives at the centre but as soon as his educator brings out a few books he walks over to join in with his peers.
Lunch
By lunchtime, Byron is ready to eat some delicious food. He has spent the morning racing around the play yard like a racing car and has worn himself out!
Afternoon
Byron and his peers do some painting in the afternoon. After their interest in racing cars, they encourage the children to try painting a car.
Morning
Isla is 4.5 years old and will be going to big school next year. She’s very excited and loves to practise writing some of the letters in her name when arrives at the centre.
Lunch
The children have brought their own lunch boxes from home today. Isla is curious to see what her parents have packed and delights in the lunch inside. She has a cheese sandwich and some yummy fruit.
Afternoon
In the afternoon, the children are ready for some imaginative play. Today they’ve decided to play shops. Isla is the shopkeeper and scans the groceries that her friends are buying.

I have been sending my daughter for over a year and it has always been a positive experience. Each children's age group has their own seperate large play space and they are always doing fun activities. Low staff turnover and they are all so kind. They have a great menu for the kids and change it often so it introduces kids to lots of different foods. Highly recommend! Read more

I dropped in one afternoon to enquire about spaces and was offered a tour of the nursery wing on the spot. I immediately felt at home. The ladies have made us feel so welcome and the environment is so inviting and stimulating. We also love our daily updates on the group pages and it's so wonderful to see my child engaging in a variety of activities. The educators are all so caring and transparent and have been open minded when working with us as a family to meet our child's needs. I also love that we are greeted every morning and afternoon when entering the centre - thank you for making us feel at home! Read more
