The qualified educators and support staff are incredibly dedicated to all the children in their care. Staff engage with children to shape daily schedules, ensuring they have a choice about when to play, learn, eat and rest. 

There is a strong commitment to transparency and staff constantly communicate with parents around the sharing of documentation, ongoing evaluation and assessment and reflection of planning cycles.

The team is always ready to help any community body with a community initiative that may arise, where the team’s input will be helpful and of benefit to the community.

We encourage and welcome all families who wish to be part of the service and to offer their talents to enhance the learning of the children, teachers and educators alike.

Our approach to early learning and development is to nurture each child's initiative and curiosity, and also to help motivate them to participate in various experiences and challenges. It is during play that children learn and expand on life skills such as confidence, relationship building, emotional regulation, problem-solving, empathy and resilience.

The Billy Button Children’s Centre Team

Billy Button Children’s Centre is committed to providing a stimulating and caring environment for all infants and children. Through collaboration with the local community, exploration is encouraged while embracing diversity and community inclusion in the centre’s play-based programs and activities:

• Creative arts: Children enjoy creative arts using many open-ended materials such as playdough, feathers, paints and other soft materials, as well as participating in the music program.
• Drama: Dressing up and imaginary play.
• Science & mathematics: Partaking in STEM and STEAM projects.
• Physical & mental wellbeing: Gymnastics and yoga.
• Sustainability program: Watering plants and caring for the gardens.
• 3 and 4 year old  kindergarten: As part of the Government funded kindergarten program.

Billy Button Children’s Centre follows the Australian Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) which encourages children to learn literacy, numeracy, languages, and art through play-based learning in a safe and secure environment. Children’s understanding of the world develops through communication, discovery, imagination, and creation. 

The EYLF aims to develop in your child a strong sense of identity, connection and contribution to their world, a strong sense of wellbeing, confidence and involvement in learning, and effective communication skills. As well as a sense of belonging, becoming, and being.

Babies Room (6 weeks -2 years) 

Educators in the nursery rooms are warm and nurturing people who support your child’s development through development of motor skills, play, music and dance. 

At Billy Button Children’s Centre, the babies have their own dedicated room with age-appropriate furniture to learn spatial awareness and develop their strength. Plenty of floor space for crawling, walking, and sitting with educators as all types of learning occurs.

Toddler Room (2 years - 3 years) 

The toddler room at Billy Button Children’s Centre is a carefully planned learning area that provides plenty of space for children to explore and investigate with the educators support.  Your child will learn how to make active choices, become independent, how to socialise, and most importantly how to learn.

The educators in the toddler room ensure your child has a chance to practice their social skills, like sharing, taking turns, as well as understanding their emotions. 

Kindergarten Rooms (3 years - 5 years)

Billy Button Children’s Centre has two spacious, specially designed rooms for kindergarten. With age-appropriate furniture, toys and activities your child will be able to develop literacy, numeracy, art, science and social skills that are essential for life long learning.

Social and emotional development is a priority for Billy Button Children’s Centre’s learning programs. Important life skills such as making friends, learning to share, resolving conflict, developing resilience, and self-regulation are a focus. Billy Button’s Children’s Centre supports children to learn about gratitude, empathy, and respect for others.
