Paramount to our philosophy is that everyone has a voice, and that voice connects our community in meaningful partnerships. Secure, respectful, and reciprocal relationships with parents, children and stakeholders ensure the community's views are welcomed and reflected in our practice.
The rights of the child and the promotion of inclusivity are embraced and embedded in the mixed-age groups offered in each prepared environment. This allows children the freedom to explore, develop, and be within a safe and protected learning landscape. It is this combination that creates stability, consistency, and continuity of educators and practices that present opportunities for individual growth and learning.
The Montessori philosophy and teaching methods embedded in the service aim to provide opportunities to develop the whole child, ultimately preparing the child for life’s many rich experiences. Learning in natural environments, alongside sustainable strategies, allows the community to develop its awareness and understanding of conscious environmental practices.
We honour and embrace the diversity of families’ lifestyle choices, cultures, and traditions and acknowledge the depth they bring to our programs. These collaborative relationships underpin our connection to the community that drives our constant improvement. We are committed to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and embedding the First Nation culture into our programs.
We believe every child and educator can achieve their fullest potential by nurturing happy and healthy minds, hearts, and bodies. Our partnerships and professional collaborations guide ongoing learning and reflective practices, which are critical to the well-being of our community. Our committed and knowledgeable staff contribute to the confidence and success of Avenues Montessori, which inevitably supports the learning-for-life mindset we foster.

We’ve been with this centre for over three years and what stands out most is the incredible guides (and retention of staff). Having the same caring educators year after year has given our child stability, happiness, and real confidence. The consistent, calm environment means our child has always felt safe and supported, and as parents we’ve valued the genuine continuity of care. The leadership is strong, the education is engaging, and we’re so grateful to be part of such a special community. Read more

Avenues Montessori Children’s House, Bowen Hills has played a very important and big role in our children’s education journey. We started with them when the team was small and now they have grown by leaps and bounds with constant improvement and positive changes to their Montessori program. Our children started from the Nido community through to the Kindy program. We found our children learning many life skills from the wonderful educators eg how to set up a table, being responsible and respectful of their peers and environment, practicing activities that start to hone their writing skills etc. When they were in the Nido community, although our children were very young, their needs were always met and heard. The Cycle 1 program is very diverse and rich in culture and knowledge. The Kindy program prepared our children with confidence to start Prep in many different areas like languages and maths skills. We also appreciate their constant strive for sustainability and being environmentally friendly. The educators and admin staff have been very approachable and helpful throughout the many years. The supportive educators always kept us in the loop with our children’s progress and what they learnt throughout the week. The parents in the community are also very kind and active. We would highly recommend Avenues Montessori Children’s House, Bowen Hills as it has been a great pleasure and experience to have my children being taken care and taught by them. Read more

The teachers are amazing, they are so caring and dedicated. Having explored a few daycares after moving further away from the centre we discovered that it’s pretty unique, and have continued to drive them here despite the extra commute! We are so grateful to have found the centre and couldn’t recommend it to other parents more highly. Read more

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
