The consistent, calm environment means our child has always felt safe and supported, and as parents we’ve valued the genuine continuity of care. Avenues Montessori Children’s House, Bowen Hills has played a very important and big role in our children’s education journey. We started with them when the team was small and now they have grown by leaps and bounds with constant improvement and positive changes to their Montessori program. Our children started from the Nido community through to the Kindy program. We found our children learning many life skills from the wonderful educators eg how to set up a table, being responsible and respectful of their peers and environment, practicing activities that start to hone their writing skills etc. When they were in the Nido community, although our children were very young, their needs were always met and heard. The Cycle 1 program is very diverse and rich in culture and knowledge. The Kindy program prepared our children with confidence to start Prep in many different areas like languages and maths skills. We also appreciate their constant strive for sustainability and being environmentally friendly. The educators and admin staff have been very approachable and helpful throughout the many years. The supportive educators always kept us in the loop with our children’s progress and what they learnt throughout the week. The parents in the community are also very kind and active. We would highly recommend Avenues Montessori Children’s House, Bowen Hills as it has been a great pleasure and experience to have my children being taken care and taught by them. Read more

Having explored a few daycares after moving further away from the centre we discovered that it’s pretty unique, and have continued to drive them here despite the extra commute! We are so grateful to have found the centre and couldn’t recommend it to other parents more highly. Read more

Do not recommend this centre. My daughter had 2 incidents and neither were reported to me, they blamed her for "not telling the... Do not recommend this centre. My daughter had 2 incidents and neither were reported to me, they blamed her for "not telling the educators." Yet, their policy states parents must fill out forms disclosing scrapes before intake in the morning. I have since also heard a horrible story of a neglect here result painful nappy rash from a family that I met after leaving this centre. Avenues also has strange, controlling policies, like no commercialised clothing (likely to be able to reuse photos for years) as well as being vinegar only for cleaning, and you could tell because her classroom smelled of urine when I was allowed in at pickup time. The whole experience felt impersonal and there is no sense of community, a cornerstone of Montessori education. The facilities are not well kept, broken carts with loudy, screechy wheels, cockroaches on the stairs, and tears in the astroturf in the outdoor area. As well as it being owned by 2 Singapore investors, undoubtedly connected to the their costly non-refundable annual levy, cutting every corner with overheard costs, the high deposit, and even still charging families for the closure during the cyclone and turning off comments to the announcement. We lasted 4 weeks and my daughter was counting down the days which is such a disappointment because we love the Montessori principals but Avenues failed to meet any of the marks. Read more

During these 6 months, it was a true joy for the family to see him getting assimilated into culturally diverse and his first-ever communal life. The activities based on Practical Life concept have also dramatically developed his sense of independence, confidence, and responsibility that we could clearly see him enjoying, and what we want for him to pursue further. We pulled her out due to moving and I can’t express how much I wish this centre was still close for us because they cared for my daughter, taught her, encouraged her to be her and most of all made sure she was looked after following up with her food allergies. Her centre after being here was so bad that they actually gave her foods with her allergies and forgot that she had an allergy when their chef was away. I cannot believe how terrible the new centre was and it goes to show just how much the Avenues team really care for their children and their needs. ARIEL MISSES YOU ALL. As a parent I cannot recommend this centre more than enough as I know full well that it’s going to be impossible to find a centre that’s this caring and supportive for my daughter. Anybody wondering about the Avenues team, they are incredibly and is deserving of more than a 5 star review ❤️ Read more
