As a first-time mum going back to work I was very nervous leaving my child in care. But The Learning Sanctuary Morningside made it so easy!
They have great attention to detail and always make myself and my child’s happiness their top priority. But the best part by far is the staff in the rooms, who are extremely friendly and really care for my daughter.

The passionate group of educators at The Learning Sanctuary Morningside believe that the best way for children to learn and develop is to play, play, play! They’re dedicated to providing space to play, no matter the weather.
With this in mind, the educators seek to provide an experience that will inspire a love of learning that the children will keep as they progress with formal schooling. Educators pride themselves on their low turnover, offering continuity of care for the children. With a diverse group of multicultural educators, children feel at home in their care.
Communication is key for the educators, which is why they ensure that parents always feel heard, can offer feedback, and can help tailor their child’s experience based on their interests. The centre has an open door policy, meaning that parents are free to drop into the centre at any time.
Technology plays a role in the children’s learning, with interactive whiteboards, and fun computer programs to help children learn. Parents can access photos and updates about their child’s day through the centre’s free app, Xplor Home.
There’s more to early learning than simply care - the early years are fundamental to a child’s emotional, cognitive and social development. Research suggests that a quality early childhood education sets a child up for success throughout their school years and even later in life. That is why we are focused on providing our families with quality programs to support children’s learning and development from birth right through to school age.
Our children and our families are at the heart of our service. Our commitment to you and your child is that we take the time to invest in our centres and our people, so that they can best support your child, nurture them, empower them and help them to grow. We know that doing this goes a long way to ensuring that the children in our care can flourish.

At The Learning Sanctuary Morningside, each of the rooms is designed to provide the best possible early learning experience for each child, and to help them develop a love of learning. A combination of indoor and outdoor activities are planned for the children. The routines arranged by the educators allow for individual learning, small group learning, and large group learning.
Nursery
The Learning Sanctuary Morningside's nursery rooms are designed to care for children from 6 weeks up to 18 months. The space is designed to help the children feel secure and comfortable as they explore and interact with others. Children take part in physical activities such as messy play, sensory games, music and singing, tummy time for the little ones, and a dedicated private feeding area for parents.
The Learning Sanctuary Morningside's toddler rooms are for children from 18 months to 3 years old. Music and physical activity is designed to improve coordination and development of toddlers, as well as helping them to learn about literacy and numeracy. Toddlers are encouraged to form friendships with carers and other children, building their confidence and social skills.
The Learning Sanctuary Morningside's kindergarten/preschool rooms are for the 3 to 5 year olds. They offer a dedicated school-readiness program, where the children learn numeracy and literacy skills through play. Social and emotional development is a key focus for this group, as they prepare for the next stage in their learning at ‘big school.’
At The Learning Sanctuary Morningside, the team believe that little minds flourish when their tummies are nourished. The centre’s qualified chef has carefully crafted seasonal menus to cultivate a modern approach to healthy eating and well being.
All of the meals and snacks are provided for the children by the centre’s in-house chef. Food is used as a way to teach the children about the benefits of healthy eating. Children eat together and learn how to serve each other, pack away, and eat a variety of healthy foods.
Children are taught about the benefits of growing their own food by helping out with the centre’s own vegetable garden. The older children also enjoy their cooking classes with the centre chef, where they can learn in a hands-on way.
For lunches, the children enjoy meals such as beef casserole, veggie bolognese, or chicken and veggie pasta. For snacks, they are offered fruit and vegetable platters, homemade pizza scrolls, crackers and dip, homemade muffins and banana bread, to name a few options! The children also enjoy toast and cereal for breakfast.

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
