While I originally posted a five-star review for this centre, I unfortunately feel the need to update my feedback to reflect ongoing concerns. My children have been attending since the beginning of the year. Within the first two weeks, they began coming home with unexplained marks, including a serious bite on one child’s arm. On multiple occasions, blocks were thrown at their faces, and yet I was not contacted by staff about the majority of these incidents — I only learned about them from my children. Despite regularly emailing the centre, most of my concerns went unanswered until I made it clear that I would escalate the matter. Another ongoing concern is that upon almost every pickup, I hear about the same particular children causing trouble, hurting others, and making kids cry. This is raised on a near-daily basis, which suggests these behaviours are not being managed effectively by educators. I strongly value play-based learning, but I feel that what is happening at this centre goes beyond that. At times, it has appeared more like a “free-for-all,” with some educators seeming disengaged and inattentive to the children’s safety and wellbeing. I have even expressed in the past that certain staff appeared more interested in collecting a paycheck than ensuring the children’s welfare. While healthy meals are promoted, I am also unsure whether the standards consistently meet expectations. To acknowledge the positives, Centre Director Tahlia has been proactive and supportive in addressing my concerns and working to put safety measures in place. Several educators, including Tahlia, Nat, Gowthami, Shani, Blair, Jess, Jaz, and Krystal, have shown genuine care and dedication. Unfortunately, many of the staff who appeared to prioritise the children’s safety have since left the centre, and incidents continue to occur despite reassurances that improvements are being made. What saddens me most is that these issues are not isolated to my family. I recently came across another review from a parent of a child my kids enjoyed playing with, which described very similar concerns. After reviewing the centre’s NQS report, I was disappointed to see that many of the listed improvement opportunities were issues I had already raised multiple times. At this point, I feel caught between a rock and a hard place. My children truly enjoy their friendships at the centre, but I continue to question whether their safety is being adequately prioritised. I sincerely hope that meaningful and urgent improvements are made to staff engagement, attitudes, and practices around children’s health and safety. Read more

Our daughter attended Grow Early Education Heathmont (Sep 2024 – Sep 2025). Within just two months I had to sign four incident reports, including: • 21 July 2025 – hit on the head by a wooden toy • 16 Sept 2025 – bitten (bite marks) • 17 Sept 2025 – scratched on the face After the last incidents, we immediately moved her to another centre. While the building and facilities are good, supervision in the Junior Kinder room was poor compared with the Toddler room. Sadly, my daughter was scared to attend. Read more
Dear Morteza, thank you for your feedback. At Grow Early Education Heathmont, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. Like all early learning settings, children are still developing their social and emotional skills, and from time to time this can lead to incidents such as biting, scratching, or accidents with toys. Whenever this occurs, our Educators respond immediately, provide appropriate care, and document the incident for families. Following the incidents you have mentioned, strategies were put in place to support the children involved, and adjustments were made within the learning environment to strengthen supervision and minimise the likelihood of reoccurrence. We are already seeing positive improvements as a result of these measures. We understand that these situations can be upsetting for families, and we are always open to discussing any concerns directly so that we can work together in the best interests of each child. If you would like to talk further, please feel free to contact our Operations Team on 1300 934 769.

I couldn’t recommend Grow Early Education Heathmont enough to families. Both of my children have attended since the centre first opened, and we’ve had nothing but a wonderful experience. The Centre Director Jamey and all the staff are among the most caring, professional, and supportive people I’ve ever come across. Nothing is ever too much trouble — they genuinely go above and beyond to support children and their families. What really stands out is how willing they are to work closely with parents and, when needed, external professionals, to ensure every child is supported in their individual development. Their commitment to nurturing young learners is truly exceptional. Grow Heathmont has been such a fantastic addition to the local community — we feel very lucky to have found it and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to any family looking for high-quality early childhood education and care.
