About the curriculum

About the curriculum
Educators at Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten Toowoomba take a holistic and inclusive approach to educating the children. They aim to develop every child’s cognitive abilities and their physical, linguistic, and emotional skills too.
The Educators believe in the child’s right to be curious and their right to have access to the appropriate resources to explore their interests. At all times the Educators respect the social, cultural, and emotional needs of the child.
They provide an enriched, flexible, and differentiated curriculum. Educators place great importance on utilising appropriate teaching strategies that best assist in children’s learning and development.
They recognise the importance of the early years, by providing an appropriate environment that is safe, relaxed, warm, and nurturing. The Educators are dedicated to ensuring that each child, family, and Educator feels a sense of belonging.
The children are cared for in the following groups:
- Nursery 1
- Nursery 2
- Tiny Tots
- Toddlers
- Junior Kindy
- Pre Kindy
- Kindergarten
Health & Nutrition

Health & Nutrition
The centre understands that nutrition plays an important role in each child’s physical development as well as their attitudes towards healthy food.
All meals and snacks are prepared onsite by professional qualified chefs every day. The children work alongside the Educators to care for the centre’s vegetable patches, and these vegetables are then used in the kitchen or for cooking experiences with the children.
The Educators use meal time as an opportunity to share positive experiences around food and to help children develop social skills such as sharing and turn taking. They role model positive behaviours and attitudes, and involve the children in the menu planning.
All food allergies, intolerances, cultural requirements and family preferences are taken into account by consulting with parents when meal planning for the children.
Programs

Programs
Morning
Harriet is eight months old and she starts her day off crawling around and exploring the outdoor play area and gardens. Her Mum grabs a coffee and chats to her Educators about her sleep patterns before she heads off to work.
Lunchtime
It’s nearly nap time and Harriet and her friends are sitting with an Educator who is reading some books outside in the shade. Harriet is happy that her favourite book is being read next.
Afternoon
The children are enjoying some play dough. With the help of her Educator, Harriet is squashing and squeezing the dough into shapes.
Morning
Max is two and a half years old and his favourite thing to do in the morning is to ride the trikes. He and his friend Felix pretend they are firefighters and zoom around the track.
Lunchtime
Max is helping to make pizzas for lunch with the centre chef today. He has a turn at kneading the dough to make it nice and smooth.
Afternoon
Max likes to help the Educators water the garden. Today he fills the watering can and gives some water to the daisies.
Morning
Molly is four and today she is starting her day off with some water play with her friends. Their Educator has made the water blue and bubbly, and they add some toy boats to play with.
Lunchtime
Molly is finishing off a collage that she has been working on, using cut out pictures from magazines. She glues each picture into place and then hangs it up to dry.
Afternoon
Molly helps the centre chef prepare some blueberry muffins for the children to enjoy for afternoon tea. She measures the flour and adds it to the bowl, then helps to grease the tins.

I was extremely hesitant sending my non verbal autistic son to daycare. I had him enrolled at one that was just awful before I enrolled him at Grow on Grange Street. The best decision I made enrolling him there. My son loved it there! Everything we would pick him up he would be so HAPPY outside playing with all the other children! He picked up so much from being there too! The educators are above exceptional. They really go out of their way for all the kids! My son is one who does not just get comfortable with people. I'm going to give a HUGE shout out especially to 'Miss Jodie' my son loved her! He was comfortable with her and felt safe with her...she is a wonderful. Beautiful person and she made that experience for our son so much better. If you are quizzing up what daycare to send your child/children too...this is the one! Trust me, this is the one for you. Thank you to all at 'Grow' we are sad to be leaving Toowoomba and only hope we find another daycare as good as yours. Read more
