The Educators at Imagine Childcare and Preschool Blueridge Park recognise play as an essential strategy for learning. Educators identify that children are a valuable resource, recognising and appreciating that learning is a lifelong and ongoing process.  

Educators provide a diverse program that is co-created with the children, reflecting both group and individual needs as well as children’s interests. This is achieved, documented and communicated to families through a continuous cycle of reflective practise; including ongoing observations, learning stories, and evaluations. 

The Educators provide enriching experiences that encourage, promote and challenge children’s learning and development. Educators recognise the importance of forward thinking, and aim to provide learning experiences that prepare children for the future. A key component of this thinking is the centre’s commitment to establishing a sustainable environment. 

Through intentional teaching about waste reduction, recycling and reusing, the Educators believe that they are able to teach children about the importance of respecting and protecting the environment while reducing the centre’s own carbon footprint.

The children are cared for in the following groups:

The centre understands that nutrition plays an important role in each child’s physical development as well as their attitudes towards healthy food.

All meals and snacks are prepared onsite by professional qualified chefs every day. The children work alongside the Educators to care for the centre’s vegetable patches, and these vegetables are then used in the kitchen or for cooking experiences with the children.

The Educators use meal time as an opportunity to share positive experiences around food and to help children develop social skills such as sharing and turn taking. They role model positive behaviours and attitudes, and involve the children in the menu planning.

All food allergies, intolerances, cultural requirements and family preferences are taken into account by consulting with parents when meal planning for the children.

Some of the children’s favourite meals include pizza wraps, spaghetti bolognese, shepherd’s pie, fish patties, and tuna pasta bake.
