Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement
At Guardian Childcare & Education, parents are invited to be directly involved in their children’s time at the centre. Parents can join their children for breakfast when they drop them off or come in at other times to share meals. They are also invited to join the children on excursions or at other events.
In the centre, parents will find Visible Learning Displays. This helps to track the children’s progress and provides a connection point to spark conversations between parents and educators. Parents and educators also use the StoryPark app for communication with the educators providing regular updates via this platform.
Programs

Programs
The centre programs revolve around the interests and skills of the children. The educators take a personalised approach to get to know each child, their needs and what interests them most. They then tailor the program to match.
With a mix of structured and unstructured play, the educators embed important foundational learning and skills throughout the day. What may seem like fun and play to the children or even to an outside observer, the educators carefully plan activities with real learning benefits. Whether it’s counting the chairs to put out at lunch or practising social skills through dress up play, the children are always growing, learning and developing.
Community is also a strong focus in the program. The educators make the most of their community connections to plan engaging incursions and excursions for the children to enjoy. This enhances their sense of belonging as they develop an understanding of the world around them.
Meet the team

Meet the team
The team at the centre is made up of a mix of accredited Teachers, experienced Lead Educators and passionate Educational Leaders. No matter the role they play in the team, each and every person is dedicated to nurturing and supporting the children in their care.
Unique to Guardian Childcare & Education is the role of Baby Ambassador. It is the Baby Ambassador’s role to get to know the youngest children at the centre and ensure their needs are met each and every day. They also liaise with the families to give added peace of mind that their baby is happy and well during the day.
The team is the heart of the centre. Each member is valued for the individual skills they bring to the team and the contribution they make. For this reason, staff turnover is low ensuring a consistent experience for the children.

The reason why I'm giving 2 stars is because the worthy educators that have worked tirelessly with a caring attitude, not selective to any race on children have played a role in looking after my child. I have to acknowledge and We gave them credit for that. The price is considerably cheap if you compare to other facilities. I think it's $15 less. Also, during the trial or visit they would make a good impression. This facility focus on quantity over quality. The educator to children ratio should be taken into consideration. Although, our entire experience was not so satisfied with how the place/management/some educators have displayed. We pulled out from the facility hence we noticed that some workers here are overworked or maybe displaying a less team work. The management would make some billing error although it can be rectified but still its abit of a hassle to come back to them to get it fix. Everytime I pick up my child, she would have a dirty face, dirty clothes, dirty nappy and not a happy child. I would expect my kid to be at least presentable and happy but this would not usually happen. The worst thing happen was that My child experience IMPETIGO BACTERIAL INFECTION on her genital area which is a contact precaution. When my child was cleared from the GP, with a medical certificate, they keep on judging on us that my child could not get in because of the infection, afraid that my child would contact other kids. In fact, the infection actually started on the facility who gave it to my child. I think the educators did not follow strict hand hygiene or gloving change towards the nappy change. They might need to look at these, how to practice hygiene to avoid spreading bugs. My child would have a high chance of getting so sick everyweek and you as a parent would suffer on calling sick from work. Some educators during handover are not so caring focus nor communcates directly to the parents about any particular concerned as they have lots of children to look after. They also have a high turnover of staff. I would suggest that all kids should be cleaned before parents pick them up. Clean the whole facility including the toys etc with proper hygienic cleaners. Educate the educators on proper hand hygiene. Change the culture to a teamwork, loving, caring, hygienic, no discrimination attitude to any kind of race. Hope this review would bring a change of culture to this facility and make a way for the higher management to look and review at the lapses. Read more

The staff turn over is high. We witnessed children being left unattended in the room, another incident were babies in my son room were eating pieces of plastic. There were a couple of experienced and engaged educators, but for most staff was hard to communicate with , and you could tell how there were unengaged. Read more
