We continue to have such a beautiful experience with Great Beginnings Pimpama and I just want to give a huge shoutout to the incredible team who have cared for our little Jonu like their own. Jonu started here when he was just 10 months old, and now he’s confidently transitioning into the Toddler Room and that’s all thanks to the love, patience, and dedication of this amazing team. A heartfelt thank you to Faith, Jessy, Georgia, Annelise, Tiff, and Shai and few more (sorry I forgot your names) you’ve each played a special role in Jonu’s early journey, and we’re so grateful. Your warm smiles, gentle care, and genuine connection have made such a difference. Also, a big thank you to Wilma for leading such a nurturing and professional center. The environment you’ve all created feels like a second home. We couldn't have asked for a better start for our little one and we’re excited for this next chapter in the Toddler Room. Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts. 💛

We offer nurturing care and quality early education for children from 6 weeks to 6 years, with flexible hours (9, 10, 11, and 12-hour sessions) to suit busy families.

Our Learning Environments

Our children benefit from familiar faces as they grow, creating a sense of continuity:

  • Nursery (0-2 years): A safe, nurturing environment for babies to explore with tailored sensory and social experiences.

  • Kindergarten (3-6 years): A stimulating learning environment that prepares our children for school through our Enhanced Learning Program.

We’re proud to have qualified teachers and educators, supported by a team of national education experts, ensuring the highest quality childcare and early education.

Innovative Early Learning Programs

Our teachers deliver the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF or the national curriculum) through play-based learning that covers language, literacy, numeracy, STEM, social, and emotional development. Our program also includes:

  • Environmental and social sustainability learning experiences.
  • Personalised learning plans for each child.
  • Local school connections.

We focus on strong family partnerships through regular learning and development conversations with your child’s lead educator, learning showcases, and in-centre family events. Our Xplor app provides real-time updates and learning summaries daily to keep you informed on your child’s journey.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber

Nursery Space: 6 weeks – 2 years

Learning starts from before birth, and our Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing nursery environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things - through their senses, their communication and cues (body language, facial expression and sounds) and through experimentation. On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of play including sensory play, music time, story time and more. Every day provides a brand new, exciting adventure for our babies to support their development, learning and wellbeing.

Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years

Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games, role playing and reading experiences.

On any given day the Toddlers can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn-taking, developing self-confidence and emotional self-regulation. Our skilled team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Kindergarten Space: 3 – 6 years

Kindergarten is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program has school readiness at its core, encouraging active engagement in learning and supporting a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.

The oral language supports literacy learning and a child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Kindergarten children's literacy development by engaging in rich discussions, reading, storytelling, dramatic play and experimentation all of which introduce new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations.

Throughout the Kindergarten year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.

Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, are supported through group learning experiences. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Our goal in the Kindergarten year is to prepare children and families for a smooth transition to primary school.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our centre chef prepares and cooks nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating across a wide variety of food.

Our centre offers seasonal whole food-based menus – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

Hi, my name is Margie, and I am the Centre Manager here at Great Beginnings Pimpama. I focus on building trusting relationships and creating engaging environments that support children’s development at their own pace.

I have been working in early childhood education and care since 1998 and joined the Pimpama centre in 2025. My passion for early learning has only grown stronger over time, as I firmly believe the earliest years lay the foundation for children’s emotional, social, and academic development. What I love most about early education is watching children grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence, and sharing in the small but meaningful milestones, from first friendships to those wonderful lightbulb moments. Being part of that foundation and making a positive, lasting difference during such a critical stage is what drew me to this profession and continues to inspire me today.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with children from a wide range of backgrounds and developmental stages. I have learned that children are capable and curious learners who thrive when they feel safe, valued, and understood. This guides my nurturing, flexible, and play-based approach, where observing, listening, and responding to each child’s individual needs is key. I focus on building trusting relationships and creating engaging environments that support children’s development at their own pace.

I believe dedicated early learning centres complement learning at home by extending children’s experiences through intentional, play-based programs led by qualified educators. In a centre setting, children benefit from rich social interactions, consistent routines, and thoughtfully designed learning spaces that support communication, empathy, independence, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging.

I am proud to lead a dedicated team of creative, nurturing, and passionate educators who genuinely care about children and families. Together, we create warm, inclusive environments and continuously reflect on our practice to achieve the best possible outcomes. Supporting families is central to my role, and I prioritise open, honest communication and respectful partnerships so families feel heard, valued, and confident throughout their child’s early learning journey with us.

My son has been attending Great Beginnings Pimpama for the past three years, and our experience has been nothing short of exceptional. From day one, the educators and staff have been warm, welcoming, and incredibly supportive. It’s clear they truly care. Each morning, my son looks forward to kindy with genuine excitement, which speaks volumes about the nurturing environment they’ve created. Over the years, I’ve witnessed remarkable growth in his speech and overall learning development—thanks to the dedication, patience, and passion of his educators. We’re deeply grateful for the positive impact the centre has had on his early years, and I couldn’t recommend Great Beginnings Pimpama more highly.

Response from the owner 02 Feb 2024

Our son has only been a Great Beginnings Pimpama for two weeks and we have noticed a huge difference in his mood, behaviour and independence. The staff here are all friendly and accommodating. I have to put in a special mention for Miss Angilique who is the lead educator. She goes above and beyond for the kids and is very attentive to their needs. We look forward to what the future is going hold for our son at Great beginnings and can’t wait to watch him grow and flourish with the support of all the beautiful educators.
