Everyone loves a bake. This super easy and balanced dish is a fail safe with the kids. Minutes to put together and always enough for left overs for lunches. Better yet, this is healthy and balanced for growing bodies. You know they are getting what they need. 

This tuna pasta bake is just one of the seven recipes you can make with the one sauce for seven recipes. Cook it up and pop it in the fridge for the week as a healthy base to your mid week meals.

Prep time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes

 

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of dried spiral pasta
  • 4 cups or ladles of Chunky Tomato Sauce – recipe
  • 1 carrot, grated.
  • 1 small head of broccoli, chopped, including the stem.
  • ½ cup frozen peas
  • Optional: 2 handfuls of Kalamata olives
  • 1 x 425g can of tuna in canola oil, drained.
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese.

Method:

1. Pre heat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
2. Put pasta into pot and cover with pre boiled water and cook the spiral pasta.
3. Put all ingredients into an oven dish. Mix really well.
4. Top with cheese and cook for 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and crispy on top.

Notes:

Serves 6 easily.
You can add other vegetables that will cook in the oven in the time frame.
Pasta hack: if you haven’t got time to cook pasta on the stove, just boil some water, put pasta
spirals and hot water in pot let it sit. In 15ish minutes it should be cooked.
