Spaghetti Bolognese

Everyone has their own version of spaghetti bolognese and while this might not be the most traditional version, it's one of the seven recipes you can make with the one sauce for the week. This is super quick, is packed with veggies and given you already have the pre-cooked Chunky Tomato Sauce, it's a breeze!

Prep time: 10 minutes.
Cooking time:  15 - 20 minutes
Serves: 5-6

Ingredients

  • 4 ladles of Chunky Tomato Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Bay leaves 2 fresh or dried
  • 400g ground/minced rump
  • 1 packet spaghetti
  • Tablespoon olive oil if pan non stick
  • Pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese to serve
  • Optional: Kalamata olives

Method

  1. Cook pasta to packet instructions.
  2. Whilst the pasta is cooking, heat non-stick pan or heat oil, add mince, bay leaf and ground cumin.
  3. Add tomato paste to the mince while it is still browning, then once the meat is all brown begin adding the sauce one spoon at a time until you hit 4 cups equivalent.
  4. Cook for 10 minutes, adding pepper and any other optional ingredients.
  5. Cook another 10 minutes, then serve!

Notes:

  • Any left-over meat sauce can be used towards the wraps recipe.
  • Serve with a green salad if you have cucumber/tomato/lettuce.
