Most Recent Nanny Position

2005 – Current
Casual Solecharge Nanny/Babysitter
Nicholson Family, Mount Riverview
Caring for two children initially who were aged 1.5 years and 3 years at commencement and then two newborn siblings who are all now aged 1, 3, 8 and 11 years. Activities and duties include games and puzzles, arts and crafts, stories and reading, school pick-up, assisting with homework, attending music practice, preparing all meals and snacks, supervising bath-time and preparing children for bed. This job also included many overnight stays also.

2007-2008
Blue Mountains City Church Kids Leader
I enjoy watching the kids grow and develop as individuals through my guidance, determination and commitment. Many hours of preparation and organization each week was a priority to ensure that each service was both fun and engaging. I also prepared food, lead games; craft; and lead a team of other leaders, helping and enabling them to establish greater self-belief to step up into different roles. As a team we could then more effectively raise up the young children (ages 2-13 years) to one day lead others.

2007
Temporary Live-in Nanny for Five Weeks
Hope Family, East Blaxland
Caring for two children aged 1 and 3 years where activities and duties included all of those listed above as well running and maintaining the household on all levels. Dad was a chef so this role required late hours so live-in arrangement.
Other Employment
January 2009 – Current: Beautician (Own Business)
As a fully qualified Beautician I have a part time business as a home Beautician.

Nov 2008 – January 2009: The Heritage Terrace Café
This work place was very fast pace and I was required to complete several tasks simultaneously. Although I only worked in this role for a short time, the experience has taught me the importance of exceptional customer service. It has given me valuable problem solving and leadership skills, an eye for detail and competence to work in a demanding and hectic environment.

Nov 2006 – 2007: The Riv Café – Head Chef
As an apprentice/head chef it is very important to prioritise and exert effective time management whilst in the kitchen. Meeting deadlines were a significant component of this role. To ensure these deadlines were met and exceeded I was punctual and prompt in the completion of my tasks. This position taught me how to manage my tasks in an efficient manner whilst ensuring top quality outcomes. I have also come to appreciate patience and gained the ability to persevere in a challenging situation. Training subordinates was also a part of this position. This involved enhanced knowledge of my role and the confidence to teach and lead others on how to duplicate the diverse array of tasks involved.

2005 – 2009: The Riv Café – Waitress
Working as a waitress at The Riv Café taught me the importance of customer service and proactively identifying customer needs prior to request. I was expected to continually display exceptional people skills, reliability, good time management, a great work ethic and a comfortable, patient and content nature. Fast and efficient service was an important element of this role. As a result I developed and advanced my ability to prioritise, whilst acquiring a determination to achieve the tasks I was given beyond expectation. Additionally, I was responsible for leading staff by example, assisting customers with their purchases, supporting staff with any problems or concerns, and cash handling. This was a very team focused environment, which as a result improved my ability to work well with others to successfully achieve common goals.

Profile:
“I have a friendly, bubbly personality which enables me to work and get along easily with children of all ages.

I have had a lot of experience working with children. I previously have run ‘Kids church’ at Blue Mountains City Church for about a year, however previously to that I was a helper for about 2 years. I have been babysitting for a family on and off for just under 6 years which has given experience working with children ranged in age from a new born baby to 12 years old. I have held many part-time baby sitting jobs, and have had the experience of living with a family with two young children, which has taught me a lot. This involved cooking, cleaning, feeding, nappy changes, sleep time and playtime with the two girls. I have come to appreciate the value of experience and believe that I can bring this appreciation, aspiration and commitment to your household.”
