After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to withdraw our child from Brady Bunch Hertford Street and transfer to another kindergarten. Like many families, we stayed through previous staff turnover because of the incredible educators who created stability, consistency and genuine care for the children. However, it has become increasingly clear that the centre is unable to retain the very educators who make it a positive environment in the first place. Watching loyal, experienced and genuinely caring staff continue to leave or be pushed out has been deeply upsetting and reflects very poorly on the leadership and culture of the centre. The recent decision to let go of the four-year-old kindergarten teacher was especially disappointing and ultimately became the final factor in our decision to leave. It is despicable to see dedicated educators treated as though they are replaceable, despite the enormous impact they have on the children and families who rely on them. For young children approaching school, secure relationships and continuity are so important. Repeated changes in staffing and leadership create uncertainty not only for families, but for the children who thrive on familiarity and trust. We were especially saddened after already experiencing significant staff exits previously, particularly when so many of the educators choosing to leave were clearly the ones who cared most deeply about the children. While the centre promotes a supportive and family-focused environment, our recent experience no longer reflected those values. We simply could not continue placing our child in an environment where consistency seemed impossible to maintain and where good educators no longer seemed supported or valued enough to stay. We are grateful to the educators who genuinely cared for and supported our child during their time there, and we wish them all the best moving forward.
