My son started going to Thrive in 2021. He was about 18 months old and there have been very minor issues, but the major issues started when he was in pre-K room. There was an educator named Vanessa who had her son Marcelo enrolled, and he was in the class that she was teaching. This child had a lot of behavioral issues which I’ve noticed that a lot of the kids picked up a lot of his behaviors and there was a lot of complaints made against this child and the dynamic, but nothing had been resolved and then later on Marcella went on to another school. However, when other children started exhibiting these behaviors, the staff did nothing to really address these issues. They also never explained to me that my son was having behavioral issues. I was only ever told about may be an incident of him accidentally hitting a child asking me to sign a report or not even having a report available because their system was down. But there was no real hey this is the plan. This is what we’re going to do to try to help Christos regulate his emotions. They never discussed anything with me. They never had any procedures in place. Nothing was presented to me. not until another parent made some complaints then they decided to terminate my son on the basis that he is a danger to the staff and to himself, but there have been no reports provided to me to show this type of evidence, and my son has disclose to psychologist that Vanessa the pre-K teacher continuously with yell at the children, which scared them and so he was literally terrified, and he would exhibit a lot of behavioral issues due to the traumas he was experiencing. My family were going through separation. My son is in two different household. He was going through a lot, and this staff is not equipped to handle and emotionally regulate these kids. Their staff turnover was ridiculous. They had no real connection with the child and when they did, it was an act of giving them treats and bribing them to do what they want. There was no true connection and they were not understanding with a child emotionally needed to regulate so they wouldn’t have those behavioral issues. The staff at Thrive never spoke to me about these issues. I had to deal with this on my own and when they terminated my son from daycare, I had to enroll him in another daycare, but because he was so emotionally unregulated the other daycare wasn’t able to handle his emotional outburst so I had to leave my full-time job get on a care payment and put my son into trauma therapy and thank God that I found a very good daycare in Hurstville that was able to handle my son and they have been able to provide early intervention and set him up for school this year. I have reported Thrive and educator a message to the childcare department of education and I’m waiting to hear back from them. I will continue to check in with them to make sure that this is resolved and I really urge any parent who feels like the slightest bit that may be a teacher is not doing something correct that they need to report her because the more reports on file the better to keep these children safe it is not OK to be yelling at children to pinching children to do anything harmful to a child while they’re in your care They do not know how to deal with vulnerable children.

Our experience with Thrive Blakehurst has truly been nothing short of wonderful, and I felt inspired to share just how grateful our family is. When my daughter first started back in 2024, she was only 9 months old, so naturally it was a very emotional transition for us as parents. From the very beginning, the team created such a warm, supportive and nurturing environment that it didn’t just help my child settle — it gave our entire family genuine peace of mind. The educators took the time to really understand her personality, her routines, and what made her feel safe and secure. Watching her grow in confidence, form friendships, and genuinely look forward to her days there reassured us that we had chosen the right place. And of course, kids will be kids — on the rare occasions where little incidents have happened, everything has always been handled with professionalism, care, and sensitivity, while maintaining confidentiality and respect for all families involved. That level of trust and professionalism has meant so much to us. Now, as our youngest — who is also just 8 months old — prepares to attend, our appreciation for the centre has only grown deeper. Because of his specific health circumstances, communication has been incredibly important to us, and the staff have gone above and beyond in holding space for every conversation, question, and concern I’ve had. As much communication as I have needed, they have met me with patience, understanding, and reassurance. At no point have I felt rushed or dismissed — instead, I have consistently felt listened to, supported, and respected. The room educators in particular have shown genuine compassion and professionalism, making sure we feel included and informed every step of the way. It’s rare to find a centre where you genuinely feel heard as a parent, and where your children are cared for as individuals rather than just part of a routine. The kindness, patience, and dedication shown by the team have made a lasting impact on our family. Knowing that both of my children are, and will be, surrounded by educators who truly care brings an incredible sense of comfort. We are so thankful to be part of such a supportive community and would wholeheartedly recommend this centre to any family looking for a place where children are nurtured, supported, and truly valued — while parents feel just as cared for along the journey.

Thrive Early Learning Centre Blakehurst truly goes above and beyond for both children and families. My son attends Thrive full time, and I honestly cannot fault the centre or the educators in any way. My son struggles with certain behaviours, and the individual support he receives through their "Strive to Thrive" plan has been incredible. The educators genuinely take the time to understand his needs, support him one-on-one, and help him grow. Since attending Thrive, he has learned so much and continues to make positive progress every day. From the moment I toured the centre, I felt completely at home. The leadership team is warm, caring, and attentive — they truly listened to what our family needed and made us feel supported from the very beginning. I am so grateful for the care, dedication, and passion shown by everyone at Thrive. I highly recommend this centre to any family looking for a nurturing, supportive, and high-quality childcare environment. Please check them out 🙏
