Davis Street Kindergarten has been an incredible space for my son to learn and grow over the last two years. The educators and staff are nurturing, experienced, responsive, kind and generous with their time, advice, and personalised support. The space itself has the perfect blend of old school kinder vibes, lush green spaces, and engaging and interactive activities. The diversity in programs meets the needs of kids and parents, and the intentional structure and length of each day's program is well thought out and considered to meet the kids where they are as they take their first steps into their education journey. The opportunity to engage in a playgroup prior to 3 year old kinder provided an amazing opportunity to build friendships and familiarity with the space prior to officially starting, and the graded transition at the start of each year enables the kids to build confidence and independence. We have loved our time at DSK and will be sad to leave!

If kindergarten had a Michelin star, Davis Street would need an extra category for “magical childhood memories”.<br><br>Davis Street Kindergarten is one of those rare places where you don’t just feel like you’re sending your child to kinder — you feel like you’re handing them over to a whole little village of people who genuinely care about who they are becoming.<br><br>From the moment you walk through the gates, there is something different about it. There are enormous gardens to explore, mud to be investigated, friendships to be formed, questions to be asked, stories to be told and, apparently, an unlimited supply of very important things that MUST be brought home in pockets.<br><br>What I love most is that the children aren’t treated like little empty vessels waiting to be filled with information. They are treated as curious, capable, creative little humans with ideas worth listening to. Their questions can become projects, their interests can become adventures, and their imagination is given room to run wild.<br><br>And the teachers… honestly, I don’t know how they do it.<br><br>They somehow manage to nurture, educate, encourage, comfort, negotiate, inspire and keep track of so many tiny people’s emotional states — all while apparently being completely unfazed by glitter, mud and the occasional mystery object discovered in a pocket.<br><br>But what makes Davis Street particularly special is the community.<br><br>It doesn’t feel like a place where families simply drop off and pick up. Parents are genuinely part of the kinder community. Children learn alongside each other, families get to know one another, and there is a wonderful sense that everyone has a small part to play in creating something bigger than themselves.<br><br>It is also incredibly special knowing that Davis Street has been part of the Kew community since the 1950s. Generations of children have walked through those gates, grown friendships, discovered their independence and left with a little more confidence and curiosity than when they arrived.<br><br>And perhaps that is the greatest gift of all.<br><br>Davis Street isn’t just preparing children for school.<br><br>It is preparing them for life.<br><br>To be curious.<br>To be kind.<br>To listen to others.<br>To have an idea and be brave enough to explore it.<br>To make mistakes and try again.<br>To appreciate nature.<br>To celebrate differences.<br>To contribute to a community.<br>And most importantly, to remain wonderfully, unapologetically themselves.<br><br>So thank you, Davis Street, for giving our children somewhere to wonder, create, get gloriously dirty, make friends, ask approximately 900 questions a day and grow into the little people they are meant to be.<br><br>We feel incredibly lucky to be part of this beautiful community.<br><br>Although I do have one small complaint…<br><br>I’m not entirely sure how we are supposed to compete with a kindergarten that has giant gardens, wonderful teachers, creative projects AND the ability to make coming home covered in dirt seem educational. ❤️<br><br>10/10. Would happily send my child back — even if I have to keep washing mysterious kinder treasures out of their pockets.

Davis Street Kindergarten is the kinder experience all children should have - wholesome, caring, play-based learning that is led by truly engaged teachers. There is a strong sense of community among the families, which helps the kids to form strong friendships that last for the duration of their kinder years and beyond. We feel so lucky to be part of this community where our eldest has had the best start to early learning we could have hoped for. We look forward to sending two more kids through this wonderful kinder.

Davis Street Kindergarten is a remarkable place, in its physical spaces and in its spirit. From our very first visit, we felt calm, confident and inspired. Sending my daughter here feels less like a necessity and more like a gift I’m giving her, and her only complaint is that she can’t come every day. Melinda, Jade, Jane, Louise & co, and the whole family committee: thank you for building and nurturing this little pocket of magic.

The staff and teachers at Davis Street, are amazing. My daughter Penelope started when she was four, in kindergarten, and they were incredibly supportive and nurturing. They helped her learn with patience and kindness, and always made her feel welcome. The committee was also run very well. Laura did a great job with marketing, and the other ladies did an awesome job too. We are very pleased with this kinder — the grounds are beautiful, and the teachers are very friendly.

A beautiful kindergarten with a wonderful ethos. We’ve been so pleased with our daughter’s experience there. The knowledgeable teaching staff and generous community give this kinder such a wholesome feel to it. Can’t wait for our next child to attend!

I once heard Davis St Kindergarten being described by a parent as a magical place. That's a pretty accurate description. My son attended the 5-day Pre-prep program, and now my daughter is doing the same. Every day, I would hear of their adventures, their friendships, who their "siesta" buddy was for the day ... and they love Music with Von (my daughter wakes up excited about that). The teachers are all amazing and nurturing. We will miss these days.

My daughter was student at this Kindergarten in 1973-4, a very smaller version of today's site, however the time spent there was her first experience in a group environment, which was so positive given her being a single child in a mostly single parent home. The interaction between parents teachers and students was a very positive experience. This lead to a very positive to a College in a large country City, her confidence in a very different setting was so positive and I must thank the Kindergarten staff for their communication skills, as well as their academic and social teachings Thank you.
