Goodstart Early Learning Berrimah provides a welcoming, family-focused environment where children can learn through play, build friendships and develop confidence and independence. Conveniently located near Stuart Highway, Robertson Barracks and the Peter McAulay Centre, our centre is part of a diverse local community.
Our long-standing team includes four team members who have been with the centre for 15, 14, 7 and 5 years, providing consistency and familiar relationships for children and families. We also have two Bachelor-qualified Kindergarten teachers and educators who speak Vietnamese, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Greek, Gujarati, Hindi, Japanese, Mandarin and Punjabi.
Children have access to a large natural outdoor play space with a treehouse, swings and a pool for children aged 2–5 years to use each week. Our community includes families from Australian, Indian, Nepalese, Vietnamese, Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Filipino backgrounds.
We offer occasional incursions and excursions, generally for Kindergarten children, including experiences such as Desert Blue story time and police visits. We also hold multiple family-inclusive events throughout the year, creating opportunities for families and children to connect with their community.
Families can stay connected through Storypark, while our onsite qualified cook prepares fresh and nutritious meals each day. Meals, nappies, wipes, cot linen and sunscreen are provided at no extra charge.

Our high-quality, play based preschool curriculum is delivered by Bachelor qualified Early Childhood Teachers. Our teachers tailor their programs to ensure all children develop the confidence and social and emotional skills needed for a smooth transition to school. Through play, our Early Childhood Teachers facilitate children’s learning of important language, literacy, numeracy and creative skills.

Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.
The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.
The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.
Goodstart Early Learning employs qualified and skilled educators who are dedicated to making a difference to the children in their care. My son attends preschool at Goodstart Berrimah, and I’m so grateful for the wonderful care and support he receives from his educators.<br><br>He is very shy and hardly spoke with his educators at his previous childcare centre. Since joining Goodstart Berrimah, his confidence and communication have improved so much. He now loves going to the centre every morning without any fuss, which means so much to us as parents.<br><br>The centre has a lovely, welcoming environment and caring staff. A special thank you to Ms Lisa, who is always flexible, helpful and willing to go above and beyond to support families. Considering our family had a very negative experience with another childcare centre, choosing a new one was something we were quite nervous about. From the very beginning, this centre has exceeded our expectations.The transition has been smooth, welcoming, and reassuring for both our child and us as parents. Both my partner and I absolutely adore the staff and appreciate the thoughtful systems and routines they have in place, which create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.<br>The biggest sign that we made the right choice is how excited our son is to attend each day. He has made so many friends, talks about daycare at home, and genuinely looks forward to going. Goodstart Berrimah provides a safe, clean, and engaging environment with plenty of activities that support learning and development. I love that they encourage both structured play and free exploration—it’s wonderful to see my child coming home excited to share what they learned, whether it’s a new song, craft, or skill. Communication has been excellent. I always receive updates and photos about my child’s day, which gives me peace of mind while I’m at work. The educators are approachable and responsive, and I feel confident knowing my child is in capable, nurturing hands. Most importantly, my child is happy here. They’ve built friendships, grown in confidence, and are always excited to go to childcare in the morning. As a parent, that is all I could ask for. I would highly recommend Goodstart Berrimah to any family looking for a loving, supportive, and high-quality early learning environment.
