We recently moved my son from a daycare to C&K Birkdale South and I can’t praise this center enough! The transition has been a breeze with my child loving it from the very first day (and he is not usually taking change easily). He loves the food, the toys, engages very well at group time. The groups are good size not too big which allows for more personal attention for each child. Miss Rama and all the teachers really are so caring and dedicated to what they do, and great with sharing information with parents. Admin wise - I get my emails answered the same day and if I call, the phone is being picked every time (big difference from our previous daycare). I imagined starting at a new center would be overwhelming with forms and documents but no - Kristy and Tayla make it just so easy, and it’s very flexible to suit any personal situation. It felt very welcoming from the moment we got in touch. We are very happy our boy started at C&K Birkdale South and the only thing I regret is that I didn’t move him there earlier. I highly recommend!

At C&K Birkdale South Childcare Centre, we welcome children from 0 to 5 years of age and provide care and early learning five days a week from 6:30am to 6:30pm.
C&K Birkdale South embraces Listening and Learning Together: C&K Curriculum Approach which is a play based, emergent and co-constructed curriculum giving emphasis to encouraging children to express and transform their ideas and understandings in play and the many languages of children.
Children are encouraged to represent their own world in order to learn about and understand their world. In the process of representation, as they actively play and interact with others, engage with a rich variety of materials and ideas, children’s language and social abilities are fostered.
Language, literacy and numeracy are embedded in a program where children are recognised as thinkers and theorises. They are encouraged to think flexibly and creatively as they seek solutions to conflicts and problems. Children are empowered to make their own decisions and choices.
They have many opportunities to respond to the beauty and order of the natural world. Most significantly, children learn best when they have available to them a knowledgeable and informed adult, capable of engaging them intellectually as well as emotionally, and who is in turn capable of being engaged intellectually and emotionally by them.

Infant and Toddler Approach
At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for and educate our littlest people at C&K childcare centres. The Infant and Toddler approach, which we have developed, is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child to allow them the opportunity to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.
Child-Led Learning
No two days are the same at C&K Birkdale South. Each day’s learning is driven by the interests and ideas of the children. The spacious and natural environments within our centre are thoughtfully planned and well resourced, with opportunities to meet the needs and interests of all children who attend. This is achieved through the provision of combined indoor and outdoor play opportunities throughout the day. Play offers children many opportunities to develop friendships, explore, solve problems, help others, imagine, create, and extend on their interests.
Community Spirit
Community spirit is important to us at C&K Birkdale South. We foster strong ties to the local community and encourage parent involvement in the daily operations of the centre. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.
