We have been with Good Start Vermont South for over three years now, from the baby room through to kinder, and the care, support and love shown towards our child has been truly incredible. The educators and staff consistently go above and beyond to make every child feel safe, happy and valued. As parents, there is nothing more reassuring than knowing your child is genuinely cared for and we have felt that every single day. Watching our child grow, learn, and thrive in such a nurturing environment has meant so much to our family. We are deeply grateful for the dedication, kindness and effort the entire team puts into what they do.

We've been extremely happy with the high-quality care and responsiveness of staff at Goodstart Canterbury Road South since our son started in the nursery a few months ago. Helen is especially doting of our toddler and goes the extra mile to help him have a great day, and we've had positive interactions with other floor staff too (including Ash, Gudhi, Ming and others). Management leadership (Vicki, Wenwen, Hannah) have also been flexible and responsive to our changing needs for care. Our son had no trouble settling in from Day 1 and loves the range of indoor and outdoor play activities plus delicious meals provided throughout the day. It's been lovely to see his growth and development since starting here. We were initially attracted to the centre based on Goodstart's not-for-profit values, this specific service's 'exceeding' rating against the national quality standard, incorporation of Montessori approaches (hands on learning through sensory play, mixed age groups), and sole use of Goodstart staff and casuals in the centre. Definitely feels like we made the right decision, so a big thank you to the team at Goodstart Canterbury Rd South!

My daughter Nep (Minh) has been attending this childcare centre, and we are truly grateful for all the care and support from the teachers here. All the educators are very friendly, caring, and welcoming. As my daughter has grown and moved into different rooms, we would especially like to thank teachers like Guddi, Demi, and Min. When she was younger, teachers such as Ash, Helen, and Min took such good care of her. Even after moving to a new class, there were days when she still cried at drop-off, but the teachers always welcomed her warmly and patiently helped her settle in. As parents, having that kind of support gives us great peace of mind. We genuinely feel very comfortable and reassured having our daughter here. We’ve had such a wonderful experience with the nursery team at Goodstart Early Learning on Canterbury Road in Vermont. Helen and Ash have both been incredibly caring, patient, and genuinely maternal with our child. We are very grateful to the teachers for their kindness, patience, and genuine care for our son. They created such a warm and welcoming environment that helped him adapt very quickly to the childcare centre, even though he had never attended childcare before. It has been wonderful to see how comfortable and happy he has become. He even says "yes" excitedly when we ask whether he wants to go to childcare the next day, which says a lot about how much he enjoys being there. My daughter Ayra joined this daycare after moving from another centre, so it took a little time for her to settle in at first. The teachers were incredibly patient, caring, and understanding with her, and now she’s completely comfortable and absolutely loves going there. Honestly, from the very first tour, she seemed so comfortable and happy in the environment that I knew we were making the right choice, and we definitely don’t regret it. The centre is always neat and tidy, and the outdoor play area is amazing. We’ve also noticed such a big difference in her development since starting here. Her confidence has grown so much, especially with her speech and language. I also really appreciate the weekly photos they share. It’s always so nice seeing what she’s been up to and what she’s learning. A big thank you to all the wonderful educators and staff for creating such a caring and welcoming environment. Last year, when we were preparing to move from the CBD to Vermont, I toured quite a number of ELCs in the area. When choosing an early learning centre, the single most important thing for me was always the quality of care, professionalism, and genuine attentiveness shown by the educators. More than facilities or programs, I wanted a place where my children would feel truly safe, known, nurtured, and cared for by people who genuinely love what they do. What ultimately led me to enrol my children at Goodstart Early Learning Canterbury Road South was the strong sense of community, warmth, and personal care that filled the centre from the moment we walked through the doors. The professionalism and consistency of the educator team stood out immediately and gave me a level of reassurance that is honestly difficult to find. One thing that immediately caught my attention was how every educator seemed to know every child’s name — even out in the shared backyard. That single backyard space, where children of all ages can interact, play together, and naturally learn how to navigate different age groups, was actually one of the biggest factors in making this centre our family’s first choice. It felt warm, connected, and wonderfully inclusive. The second thing I noticed was how familiar and comfortable the children were with all the educators, regardless of which room they belonged to. The relationships across the centre felt genuine, nurturing, and built on trust. It was very clear that the educators were not simply supervising children, but actively caring for them in a thoughtful and professional way. That was particularly important to me because I wanted my children to be able to see and interact with each other throughout their day at the ELC while still feeling secure and supported by every educator around them. The enrolment process, waiting list, and eventual acceptance were all handled so smoothly. Vicki and Wen Wen were incredibly kind, organised, and communicative throughout, always keeping me updated and letting me know as soon as a place became available. My children truly enjoy their days here, and the educator team has been exceptionally nurturing. One of my children absolutely loves the nursery and has developed wonderful self-feeding skills, healthy water-drinking habits, and confidence through pretend play and sensory activities. Helen, Ash, and the nursery team put so much thought and care into creating rich sensory and painting experiences that would honestly be difficult for me to recreate at home. The level of patience, effort, and attentiveness they bring really reflects the care they put into each child’s development and enjoyment. My older child has also made many beautiful friendships at the centre, and I love hearing all about the day afterwards. I especially appreciate how the Kinder educators — Rachel, Anna, Cathy, Sonal, Taylah and Deb — pay close attention to each child’s individual needs. If a child seems tired or needs extra rest, they respond with such thoughtful and tailored care. I also really appreciate the family grouping approach. Gudi, Demi, Min, Sweetha and the toddler room team (sorry unable to list every educator) have all cared for my children during family grouping and backyard play time, and it is incredibly comforting to know that the care and familiarity extends beyond just their assigned rooms. There is a genuine sense of teamwork across the entire centre, which creates such a reassuring environment as a parent. And finally, one of the loveliest parts of arriving each morning is the smell of the food drifting through the front entrance — such a warm welcome from the centre’s wonderful chef, Molly. It truly makes the whole centre feel comforting, homely, and full of care. For our family, what makes this centre truly special is not just the environment itself, but the people within it. The level of professionalism, warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care shown consistently by the educators is what matters most when choosing an ELC.

My son has been going to Goodstart since he was 10months old, started in Noble park and last 12 months in Canterbury South Goodstart centre since we have moved. This centre and all educators been a such a support having my son moving to new centre, he settled very quickly and enjoyed there. The educators in toddler room especially Gudi, Demi and Minh are amazing in paying attention to the smallest details and taking a great care of my son. I highly recommend the centre provided the knowledge and care the educators have, it's a well rounded facility with all necessary setups you would want for your kid.
