My children currently attend Red Bear and we have had nothing but positive experiences during our time. The staff are warm, nurturing, provide a high level of care and go above and beyond for the children, providing exciting and engaging learning experiences through play. Admin staff are also wonderfully warm, always greeting families and providing adequate information, ensuring we remain up to date. Red Bear is clean, always kept looking modern and new with a homely touch. My kids particularly love the outdoor space, filled with lots of exciting areas to play including the mud kitchen. Highly recommend.

My grand-daughter attends Oatley Red Bear and it is such a delight to see her confidence has grown, and she comes home happy and keen to share her day at Red Bear. The staff are friendly, caring and well organised. We are looking forward to having my grandson start soon.

Dear Parents, I wanted to reach out to share a concerning experience I recently had with Red Bear Preschool, which I believe is important for any parent considering enrolling their child there. Recently, my daughter, Devlyn, was involved in an incident at the center where she was accidentally hit near her eyebrow by a flying object. While accidents can happen, I was particularly troubled by the way the incident was handled by the staff and management. Despite my concerns about the potential severity of the injury—imagine if the object had hit her eye or caused a concussion—the school’s response was dismissive. They described the incident as “an accident” and attributed it to Devlyn being in the “wrong place at the wrong time.” Furthermore, when I requested an apology from the child involved or their parents to help teach empathy and accountability, the school refused, stating that an apology is not appropriate at this age in their setting. I am sharing this experience not to alarm, but to inform you so that you can make a more informed decision about your child’s care. In my view, a childcare center should prioritize both the safety of the children and the values of empathy and responsibility, especially in situations where an injury has occurred, whether intentional or accidental. Please think carefully about the kind of environment and level of care you want for your child. I hope this information is helpful as you consider your options.
