Playbright Rosebery Early Learning Centre

As part of the daily fee, the following programs are all included: 

Fitness program: the children enjoy weekly fitness classes, to build up their fine and gross motor skills, build confidence and have fun with fitness.

Language program: children take part in Spanish language lessons from a native Spanish speaker, embracing culture and difference.

Regular incursions: the centre has regular varied monthly visitors, usually promoting a special event or multicultural celebration.

Regular excursions: to extend on their learning the children are taken out within the community to places like the library, parks or shops. 

Music program: music is appreciated in both small and large group experiences, exposing children to basic musical concepts, and promoting both sound and word recognition.

The team at Playbright Early Learning Centre Rosebery feel that their biggest asset is their educators. The team genuinely cares for the children like they were their own.  The centre’s motto of ‘learn play laugh grow’ is based on their commitment to play based learning. The daily routines which are both structured and spontaneous, combined with creative play and exploration allow the educators to foster true lifelong learning for all of the children. 

Incorporating the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood education, the educators provide activities based around science, early literacy and numeracy, mathematics, physical activity, imaginative and dramatic play, health and nutrition and social skills. The educators treat each child as an individual, and each child is encouraged to progress towards childhood milestones at their own pace.

The educators feel that children learn best when exploring their own interests, therefore the curriculum connects to a child’s everyday life. Individual planning is driven by the ideas, information and questions presented by each child in response to their curiosities and passion.

Using this principle as the foundation, the educators strongly consider each child’s specific needs, unique abilities, cultural background, learning style and experiences shared with family and community to develop individual programming goals.

At Playbright Early Learning Centre Rosebery, the experienced chef, Mila, owned and ran a very popular cafe in Surry Hills before 'retirement'. However Mila couldn't stay away from her beloved kitchen and before long took a job at Playbright Early Learning Centre, putting all of her culinary skills to good use. She loves to cook for the children and encourage them to try new foods. The children all love Mila's cooking!

The centre chef develops meal plans in line with Australian Nutritional Guidelines for children aged between 0-5 years. The centre’s curriculum promotes healthy eating and physical activity to foster children’s overall wellbeing.

Cooking experiences are promoted across all age groups, engaging children in learning experiences that promote healthy eating and important skills in all areas of development. The menus are diverse, offering children a variety of fresh produce including many of the favourites like pastas, stir fries, salads and sandwiches as well as encouraging them to try new and exciting foods from all over the world. The menus are all certified under the Munch and Move Program, as part of the NSW Health initiative. 

The centre can cater for allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements. This is an allergy aware, nut-free centre. All educators are qualified in first aid and anaphylaxis procedures.
