Welcome to Cygnet Community Children’s Centre! We are located in the picturesque Huon Valley in Cygnet, Tasmania.
We provide the following:
Cygnet Community Children’s Centre is a not-for-profit, community-driven hub that values sustainability and lifelong learning. Governed by a passionate volunteer committee, including elected parents and community members, we prioritise creating deep connections within our community and the land on which we live and reside on.
We draw inspiration from various educational philosophies, including Nature Play, Playwork, Reggio Emilia, and Marte Meo. These principles are at the core of everything we do, enriching our children’s and families’ lives.
Cygnet Community Children’s Centre is an early learning centre that offers early education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old. We have an amazing team of passionate teachers and educators. Our team is dedicated to ensuring every child feels safe, nurtured, and inspired throughout their early education journey. From planning adventure filled experiences, to building children’s self-confidence and resilience, right up until a child’s transition to ‘big school’.
Children and teachers grown and learn together, in our resource rich learning environments. Our centre has large engaging outdoor spaces including a climbing fort, spacious sandpits, and a veggie garden, all designed to spark the children’s imagination and encourage play.
We have engaging indoor spaces, filtered by natural light. Each area is set up to encourage exploration for children of all ages and to foster their development in all key learning areas. We strive to use natural resources in our education programs and support the children to use their imagination and express themselves in a safe and secure environment.
