I agree with some of the other negative reviews about Kids Academy Springfield. While staff turnover is common in the childcare industry, the level of change here felt particularly high. There also seemed to be frequent changes in centre management, which can make it difficult to maintain consistency. After Briony (a previous centre manager) left, the overall experience at the centre seemed to decline. To be fair, there are some wonderful educators there and the cook Fran is also lovely. However, there was a period where I felt my child was being viewed as a “problem” or “naughty,” which was upsetting as a parent. My child has additional needs and may require extra support at times, but he is not a problematic or naughty child. Prior to attending this centre he spent three years at another childcare service without any issues, and we only changed due to relocating. There were also repeated incidents where the same child was biting him, and it did not feel like the situation was being effectively addressed. Communication was also inconsistent. For example, when our grandmother passed away I emailed the centre to let them know, in case my child mentioned anything or needed a little extra understanding that week. The email was completely ignored. I did not expect sympathy, but it would have been appropriate to at least acknowledge that the message had been received. This was just one of several occasions where communication felt lacking. At the time we were experiencing these issues we felt somewhat stuck. Places at other centres were limited and, with my child already close to school age, moving him again would have meant another major adjustment so close to starting school. For that reason we tried to make it work for as long as possible. We have now finally received the refund that was owed to us, however it took considerable effort and follow up to resolve. Unfortunately the experience here did not reflect the level of care and communication we had previously experienced at our former childcare centre. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this centre to other families.

We had both kids here (from day 1 when the center opened) before we departed roughly 11m ago after leaving the coast. With the benefit of comparing this to a much larger center with significantly more funding (currently paying $70/day more per child than at KAS), I can say the following.... While this center has its challenges (one big incident stands out to me), they are not unique in having to deal with them on the whole - each educator is working a challenging role and in my opinion, largely going over and above what they are compensated for - how many people can say they do that in their daily 9-5? Head office is running this ship extremely tightly so there are occasional lapses but not because of the staff, rather the system they are required to operate in - the other reviews with comments about being under-resourced are somewhat true. Combine small community + extremely challenging industry + head office seeking higher profit = specific, understandable outcomes. I know head office won't commit more funds but they really should given the community this center serves. Ultimately, I look back at our time (we loved the daily reports and kept all the photos) and can see my children were generally very happy, balanced with some tears, but still think fondly of their educators. Massive shoutout to Ms Bree and Ms Fran (both there from day 1) and Ms Ash who joined soon after. Towards the end of our time there, we also had Bella, Rahma, Arjun, Jorja, Shakshi and Jaime all play significant roles in contributing to the happiness and growth of our children, for which we are forever grateful.

Our daughter has been attending since they opened in March 2023. It is a great little centre with caring staff, lots of educational & fun activities and experiences. Would recommend.

Both of our children have attended this centre since they were babies, and it has been a wonderful experience for us. The educators are kind, caring, and create such a warm and nurturing environment. They are always providing fun and creative activities to support their development. It gives me peace of mind knowing they are in good hands!

Best thing I did was pull my twins out of this dirty, un resourced centre. The management there is horrible and shows no interest in your child’s well being an health. From daily phone calls of my child being injured by others with no course of action ever taken. Don’t send your children here!!

I cannot recommend the centre and educators enough. They wholeheartedly support our son with his global development delay, provide a safe and comfortable environment, and are friendly, approachable and well trained. It gives us great peace of mind to know our son is in an inclusive, child centered learning environment, preparing him for his transition to school. Excellent communication overall, but especially if they need you to know something important about your child during the day (phone calls or messages via an app). The centre is clean and illnesses are taken seriously, with great communication regarding outbreaks of contagious illnesses, and thorough deep cleaning of the centre and toys. The story about the day is fabulous to receive (also by the app), and is accompanied by photos so you can see what your child/ren has/have been up to. They arrange special days around key dates/events such as Harmony Day, Easter etc, and put so much effort into engaging the kids in these activities. Their chef/cook provides high quality meals the kids actually eat, provides menus in advance and adjustment notices as required. Food allergies/intolerances are taken very seriously. We are so thankful for all the educators there, management included. Our son wouldn’t have progressed as much as he has, without their guidance.

We are so grateful for the wonderful staff at Kids Academy, my son has been attending here for the last year and a half and they have always been attentive, caring and supportive of him. We appreciate all the fun, engaging and interesting play activities you create for all of the children everyday. Thank you again for everything you do!

Our son has only been attending kids academy Springfield for just over 6 weeks and has shown a lot of improvements in his development already. He is only 9 months old but is always included in the activities appropriate for his age. The food served is tasty and healthy and he seems to really enjoy it. The staff are always open and happy to receive feedback and questions. Would recommend :)

I am so glad that I pulled my child from here. Not only do the staff show no compassion, but they also rip you off when it comes to fees. My child would cry when being dropped off, not only did the staff not comfort my child, they just stood there leaving them to cry when all they wanted was a hug. It is very disorganised, dirty and not welcoming. I have used a few daycares in the last 17 years with my kids and this is by the worst.
