My youngest daughter with ASD began her journey with Hippos Friends almost three years ago. Honestly, placing her in someone else’s care was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. However, I’m so glad I did. My daughter has learned so much and achieved so many milestones there. The Hippos educators are incredibly dedicated and cater to all her needs and more. Heike and her staff are amazing, especially Sophie. My daughter and Sophie share a very special bond. It’s also a culturally safe environment as an Aboriginal family. I wish I’d known about this centre for my older children.

Our two children attend Hippos and we couldn’t be happier. My eldest started in the baby room and is now in the preschool section, and my youngest is in the baby room. All the staff are amazing and dedicated and genuinely care for each individual child. I love the focus on encouraging each child’s individual strengths and encouraging self expression and development. It really feels like a little community and we’ve made some lovely friends through hippos which I’m sure for many of the children will be life long. Highly recommend hippos, 5 stars!😊

Hippo’s Friends Early Education and Care offers a high-quality education service in a
nurturing and safe environment for the whole community. Our goal is to support and
develop your child’s natural curiosity, eagerness to learn, and their love of
communication with others.
We employ highly qualified staff including currently five Early Childhood Teachers,
and eight educators holding a Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
Our top-quality teaching programs are play-based; intentional teaching activities across all ages always ensure child safety and learning development.
Our government recognised preschool program prepares children aged 3 – 5 for entry
to their formal school life and includes:
· a strong focus on literacy and pre-reading skills using the Letterland approach
· mathematic skills via a hands-on approach as well as using Montessori materials and teaching techniques
· age appropriate French language lessons
Our large outside play area allows children to explore the world around them best
and introduces sustainable practices. We grow our own vegetables, are sun safe,
and offer children real life experiences such as cooking. We learn about nature
and our environment through regular bush walks and frequent excursions into our
local community and encourage a hands-on exploration of your child’s
surroundings.
A wide range of healthy and nutritious meals, prepared daily on the premises, are
offered; the menu is approved by the Munch & Move program.

children plenty of opportunities to foster this connection. We value parent and
community feedback, input, and engagement. We provide children with the ability
to learn about themselves and their world around them. We place a large
emphasis on developing your child’s independence.
