Antara Childcare – “Committed to Keeping Our Money” In August 2024, we paid a $600 bond and admin fee to Antara Childcare Miranda after being told we were “securing our spot” for our 2 daughters for a February 2025 start. We were told this needed to be paid that day or the place would be opened to external families. It felt like we had a confirmed spot, but at no point did we receive official confirmation or a signed enrolment. Later, we had to relocate and notified Antara two months in advance that we would no longer be attending, requesting a refund. Despite: No confirmed placement No signed agreement No services ever provided And plenty of notice to fill the spot with another family Antara refused to refund our $600, citing “policy.” We even lodged a complaint with NSW Fair Trading, who asked Antara if they would consider refunding the amount. It turns out the word “policy” carries more authority than NSW Fair Trading itself, a disappointing discovery. We also received a carefully worded email expressing how they “understand our situation” and are “committed to finding a resolution that addresses our concerns.” Unfortunately, the only resolution we witnessed was their commitment to keeping our money. In the middle of a cost-of-living crisis, this experience was incredibly disappointing, not just because of the money, but because of the principle. Be careful out there, parents: at Antara, “policy” always wins.

It’s a shame I can’t give 0 stars. This place reminds me of a circus. My child attended three times and hated it. Taking that into account along with the disorganisation of the place, we terminated the enrolment. It is now three months since the last day of attendance and they are still taking money from my bank account.

5 Stars - Exceptional Care! From day one, the staff made us feel like part of the family. The nurturing, professional environment provided by the team helped our children grow and thrive, both emotionally and academically. The activities were always engaging and well-planned, and the communication with parents was excellent. Frances and Caitlin developed lasting friendships and learned valuable skills that they will carry with them for years to come. We are incredibly grateful for the care, dedication, and love they received. Highly recommend to any parent looking for exceptional childcare! Thank you to everyone at Antara Childcare Miranda for making these years so special!

Antara on Wyralla Childcare and Preschool Miranda is a privately owned and operated service by award winning operator Anastasia Papadopoulos since 2013. Our service operates between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm for 50 weeks of the year (closed on Public Holidays). We cater for children between the ages of 18months – 5 years. The service is licensed for 39 children and is accredited against the National Quality Framework and has received an EXCEEDING rating.
Antara on Wyralla Childcare and Preschool Miranda is a long standing establishment with in our local community and caters to the needs of children aged 18months– 5 years .
The service operates with 6 staff including, 1 Early Childhood Teacher (University Trained), 2 Diploma and 2 CERT III. We support continual education in the industry and have full time trainees and support staff.
The centre Directors Melissa Robins and Carissa Blizard. Melissa and Carissa have over 12 years of experience in the childcare sector.
Melissa and Carissa have established many close relationships with the community around them and have lead their wonderful team of childcare workers in this centre and sister centres to be finalists in the St George Leader Small Business Awards for 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. The Little Cottage (where Melissa was Director) was also recognized as ‘Best Childcare Centre' in the 2011 Rockdale City Council awards.
Antara on Wyralla Childcare and Preschool Miranda has a very strong networking relationship with Yowie Bay Public School which is located nearby to the service. Representatives from Yowie Bay Public School are strong influences in the creation and implementation of our school readiness program. This ensures that the school program that we deliver is as current, relevant and cutting edge as it can be. We also take the children on excursions to Yowie Bay Public School as we are so conveniently located nearby. This allows the children a fantastic opportunity to assist with the transition from Preschool to Kindergarten.
We promote the involvement of our families throughout all aspects of the service. We encourage all families to be as involved in kindy life as possible. We know parents may feel anxious about leaving their children in a new environment, so we invite parents to contact us via telephone or email to check on their children at any time of the day. We provide regular updates via email about the goings on in each room as well as updates on all aspects of the service on our APP. We value our families input, ideas and values and ensure these help shape our service. We have strong bonds with our children and parents and are an extension of their family.
Antara on Wyralla Childcare and Preschool Miranda is a very family orientated care environment. Its educators have a strong connection, love and respect for nature. The children are engage in nature based play. Wyralla provides a child driven program that instills a true love of learning that we wish for them to carry on in the educational journey.
