About Toowoomba City Early Learning Centre

At Toowoomba City Early Learning Centre, we focus on creating a safe and supportive place for your child’s early years. Our centre is located in the CBD of Toowoomba, and we encourage learning through play. We believe every child is unique, and we help them explore their creativity, grow, and develop in their own way.

Our passionate educators work closely with families and the local community to ensure each child feels valued and connected. We provide a holistic approach to early education, giving your child the tools they need to explore the world around them, using the principles and practices of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). This framework is Australia's national curriculum framework for early childhood education, and it guides our program as we work to foster each child's development and learning.

We are open Monday - Friday from 6:30am - 6:30pm, offering early learning education and care for children aged from 6 weeks to school-age.

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

Our Centre Philosophy has been developed in collaboration with the families’ and team members' own beliefs, values, and life experiences with the goal to provide a safe, healthy, caring and stimulating environment for children and their families.

Toowoomba City seeks to develop a partnership and co-operation between families, the service and the community. We strive to build relationships where trust and mutual understanding can develop between home and the Centre. These relationships seek to be secure, respectful, and reciprocal. Educators within our service aim to raise quality and drive continuous improvement and consistency in education and care services through critical reflection of every early years aspect.

Children’s Uniqueness - we value and celebrate each child’s individuality, with their own strengths and challenges. We provide a child centered curriculum that encompasses children’s interests and strengths as we l as developing ski ls. Our program involves both child- initiated and teacher supported learning.

High Expectations for children - we acknowledge each child’s differing needs for independence and autonomy. Our Centre provides opportunities to guide, support, and extend children’s existing ski ls and encourage them to become lifelong learners.

Play based Learning - we understand that children learn best in the early years through play based learning. We know that children make sense of their world, develop their natural curiosity and develop positive attitudes to learning by pursuing their interest, using enthusiasm, imagination and persistence.

Partnerships with Families - we recognise that families are the acknowledged expert where their child is concerned and the greatest influence in their lives. We believe that a strong partnership between families and the centre ensure a sense of belonging and connectedness for children, families and educators.

Acceptance - we welcome and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and the rich tapestry of cultures that make up Australia. We are committed to developing our cultural competence and passing this onto our children and families, to ensure a cultural of acceptance is embedded in our community.

Passionate Educators - our educators too are lifelong learners who have a commitment to every child’s successful learning. Our educators know that each child needs to feel safe and comfortable for learning to occur, and this can only be achieved by developing respectful relationships and strong connections with children and families.

Creating a sense of community - we believe community plays an important role in the development of children’s sense of belonging and security. To this end we engage with our local community, as connectedness gives children confidence to find their place in their world and to develop understanding of how society works.

Promoting healthy eating and nutrition - we believe that feeding the body ensures that children are ready and able to take on life’s challenges. We provide nutritious, stimulating and tasty meals that help children to grow and thrive. We help children to establish healthy eating habits and appreciation for good quality food right from the beginning.

Importance of the environment as the third teacher - we believe that children flourish in an environment that empowers them to feel secure and confident when engaging and exploring their world. We believe that embedding sustainable practices, allows children to develop a sense of ownership, responsibility, appreciation and respect for the environment.

Both my children attend kids club city and they LOVE it & so do I. The educators are fantastic, supportive and welcoming. Not to mention extremely professional and passionate about their work. I couldn’t recommend a daycare enough to other parents.

Our family has been involved with the centre for many years, upon having my own child, they were my first and only place I wanted to send my little one. With long running staff and welcoming atmosphere. They have met and exceeded my caring and learning expectations for my child.
