Happy Hippo Kindergarten and Childcare Centre

Giraffe Room: 2 years – 3 years

In this learning room the children begin to extend their independence, for instance with the early stages of toileting with the close support and encouragement of educators. They enjoy cooking, sports and excursions, as well as many indoor and outdoor learning experiences with their peers.

Monkey Room: 2 years – 3 years

Cheetah Room: 3 years – 4 years

In this learning room children are supported by their educators, and are independent and involved learners. With a focus on developing their social skills, the children enjoy cooking, sports and excursions, as well as many indoor and outdoor learning experiences with their peers.

Lion Room: 4 years – 5 years

In this learning room children are supported by their educators, and are independent and involved learners. With a focus on developing their social skills, the children enjoy cooking, sports and excursions, as well as many indoor and outdoor learning experiences with their peers. This age group spends time on the centre’s school readiness program, with information sessions for families, educational excursions and other activities to help prepare them for school. They enjoy lots of indoor and outdoor learning experiences.

Morning

Thomas helps the educators dig some space in the veggie garden to plant some new seeds. He waters them and covers them up with soil.

Lunchtime

Thomas is having some quiet play time after lunch. He and his friend Alex get out the train tracks and have some fun building them together. 

Afternoon

Thomas and his friends are heading to the local aged care facility for their Grow with Grandparents program. He can’t wait to see his friend Joe and show him the card he made for him.

Morning

Poppy loves collecting produce from the veggie garden for the centre chef to use in the cooking demonstration. Today the children are preparing their own pizzas for lunch.

Lunchtime

Poppy heads outside to take part in the centre’s sports program. Today the children are learning some soccer skills, and Poppy has a turn as goalkeeper.

Afternoon

Poppy’s weekly language lessons have helped her learn to count to ten in Italian. Next she is going to learn the colours of the rainbow.
