About Mayfield Early Education Maddingley

Welcome to the idyllic community of Bacchus Marsh, where Mayfield Maddingley is nestled amidst rolling hills and lush vegetable farms. Our centre is where the journey of learning and growth unfolds through the play-based learning, guided by our dedicated and diverse team of educators.

At Mayfield Maddingley, we take pride in offering five distinct rooms that cater to children's individual developmental milestones. Each child is encouraged to become a capable and engaged learner, embarking on a path of self-discovery and exploration.

We believe in the power of community, and that extends to recognizing the traditional custodians of the land upon which we play—the Woiwurrung and Wathaurong People of the Kulin Nation. We encourage children and their families to embrace their connection to nature, whether it's through the wonder of dirt, the joy of sand, or the fascination of water. In doing so, we instill a profound sense of responsibility for the environment and the world that surrounds us.

Mayfield Maddingley is not just a place of learning; it's a place where children grow, flourish, and develop a deep understanding of their place in the world. We invite you to be a part of our community, where curiosity knows no bounds and the beauty of nature is celebrated every day. Welcome to Mayfield Maddingley!

What the parents say

What the parents say

As a first-time mum I was extremely nervous to head back to work and leave my daughter in the care of others. Upon our initial walk through of the centre, I knew this was the one for us. We instantly felt welcome by all the staff, the centre is so clean and well maintained, the staff go above and beyond for our daughter, right down to ringing me when she has a day off to make sure she is okay! She loves going here and has a wonderful group of educators and friends in her room. Highly recommend this centre to all my family and friends who are expecting!

Programs

Programs

Room 1 (Our wonderful babies room) is a busy room with lots of individual routines that are created in consultation with parents and families for the best comfort and growth of your child. Room one holds 12 children per day and have permanent eductators that rotate shifts to make this room as consistent as possible to help children feel valued and safe.

Room 2 (Our nursery/Toddler transition room) is where the fun begins as the children in here can walk and play. The children are learning every day with a combination of play based learning that is programed around the interest, needs and nurturing. Room 2 has its own sleep room that allows educators to continue flexible routines that meet children's need for rest and play while moving towards a more group based routine as they grow. Room 2 has 16 children per day and has permanent educators that participate in the childrens education and play each day!

Room 3 is an exciting fast paced room with lots to see and do. Our older Toddlers in this room enjoy lots of different environments that are purposely programed around the children interest to excite and develop the children's wonder and exploration of the world around them. Self help skills, cognitive & language development and gross motor skills are big developments that happen in this room! With 16 unique little people in this room each day there is always something new to learn and our team of 5-6 permanent educators are always learning and growing alongside your child.

Room 4 (Kinder 3) is an amazing space with the combination of funded 3 year old children & children accessing long day care in this age group together. Lead by a qualified early education teacher and two assistants, this room see's a lot of growth in knowledge, problem solving skills and personal development. With up to 30 children a day in this room there is always something to do and new people to play with.

Room 5 is a mixture of funded and non funded 4 year old children in our kinder room that is lead by a qualified early childhood teacher with a very professional team of assistant educators. This room encourages the children to develop their independence, self regulation and autonomy while encouraging them to use their voice and language to communicate the needs and thoughts. This is all accomplished through a play based learning curriculum that is geared towards school readiness and developmental milestones. we strive to help children gain the knowledge and confidence to move into the next phase of their learning journey.

It is a big problem that there is nothing under a one star.

This place is not a welcoming environment, I would even call it lacking in every POSSIBLE area. There must be very high staff turnover, as I am always seeing new staff and different age groups of kids are regularly being mixed, messing up the ratio of adults to kids. In addition, I overheard the director talking about their new holiday home with parents, why would you rub salt into someones open wounds.. alot of us cant even pay rent yet alone go for A holiday let alone buy a holiday home... i suggest either a mental health assessment on the director or retraining. Treat staff better so they wont keep leaving and communication is always key 0/10 do not recommend i cant believe i even have to leave a 1 star on this place. Gone to absolute chaos, Get your children out and run. A apology to all the parents is extreamly valid and to the staff members we have lost you were the most amazing, caring and loving deserved better, WAY better from management. And to the owner I believe the foundations you tried so hard to build have now been left to decay.

Mayfield Maddingley was a wonderful place to look after your children but that has all changed with new management. Now the place is not welcoming at all. All the children’s artwork has been taken down and now it’s a very sterile environment. The new manager is not very nice - she talks over you and is not approachable at all and that is when she is there - doesn’t seem to be there very often. Don’t recommend this place at all!
