Goodstart Wantirna South – Cathies Lane provides quality childcare and kindergarten in a small, welcoming centre where children and families can feel at home.
Our longstanding team includes educators who have been part of our Cathies Lane community for more than 10 years, providing children with consistency, trusted relationships and a strong sense of belonging. Four Bachelor-qualified kindergarten teachers deliver play-based programs with a strong focus on building children's confidence, independence and skills for school.
Children have plenty of opportunities to explore beyond traditional learning spaces through Bush Kinder, nature play and two spacious outdoor environments. Our active vegetable garden gives children hands-on opportunities to plant, grow, water and pick seasonal vegetables.
Our diverse educators speak Hindi, Gujarati, Chinese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Punjabi, Slovenian and Persian, creating a multicultural environment where different languages and cultures are valued.
Children also enjoy fortnightly Sports Hero sessions, monthly music experiences and our weekly Mandarin program, providing varied opportunities to explore movement, creativity and language.

Our high-quality, play based preschool curriculum is delivered by Bachelor qualified Early Childhood Teachers. Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.
The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.
The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.

My name is Sunpreet Kaur, and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning, Wantirna South - Cathies Lane. With over 13 years of experience working in Early Childhood Education, I am deeply passionate about creating a nurturing, safe and enriching environment for young learners.
I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, and I have also completed a Master of Professional Accounting in Australia.
Over the past seven years at Goodstart Wantirna South – Cathies Lane, I have had the privilege of building meaningful relationships with children and their families, our dedicated team members, and sustaining collaborative partnerships with the wider community.
These connections are at the heart of our centre’s philosophy, where we focus on fostering growth, creativity, and the peaceful learning environment that aligns with our mission and values: “A Home Away from Home”.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, including my husband and son. I am also passionate about cooking a variety of foods and I find joy in listening to music, which also serves as a relaxing corner for me.

This childcare has been a second home and family for our two children who attended for about 3 years and 2 years respectively. The permanent educators and staff genuinely care about our children and family, and are warm, friendly and always try their best to help us out when we need it. The children have simply loved their time here and bonded so much with their educators and friends. They play, learn, cook and garden together with their peers and educators regularly. We have made many special memories at this centre, such as celebrating Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparents Day and Christmas for multiple years. The centre also tries to make a birthday cake for every child to celebrate their birthday with the group when their turn comes. Talk about going above and beyond. The centre may look "the usual" from the outside, but the hearts of these educators and staff are simply golden, and for us, that's what makes this place a cut above the rest.
