After a week of experiencing a new childcare center and seeing how quickly my son settled in—without even a second of crying when I drop him off—I felt it was important to share my experience with Templestow kids center from a few months ago. My son was nappy rash five times at this center. I overlooked it three times, but on two occasions, he developed a severe nappy rash. One of them was so bad he couldn’t sleep at night. The last time, the educator had clearly noticed the rash but still changed his nappy without applying any Sudocrem or ointment. I only realised how serious it was when I brought him home and he was crying from the pain. It was a heartbreaking and cruel level of neglect. Each time I raised my concerns, the management claimed that my son’s poo was “too acidic”—something I had never seen in over two years. What upset me most was how they ignored the severe rash covering his entire bottom and didn’t even apply any cream. I also had issues with an educator in his room named Ash. She had very poor communication skills— She seemed to struggle just to lift her head and say good morning and never once tried to hold or connect with my son. Every morning I had to leave him crying intensely, and it broke my heart. When I gave my notice to leave the center, they told me there was a required 4-week notice period. I accepted that. But immediately after giving notice, all records about my son disappeared—no updates on his meals, nap times, or even a single photo, neither on the app nor on the photo board. I ignored it for one day, but when it happened again the next day, it felt as if my son didn’t even exist in the center. After I expressed how upset I was, the management—who had always tried to justify everything—suddenly admitted it was a “mistake” and agreed that I could stop sending my son there without serving the full four weeks. For children who cannot yet speak, I do not recommend this center. While there are some kind and professional educators here, this review reflects my personal experience and I felt it was important to share. Read more
