Welcome to Guardian Childcare & Education Maidstone

Guardian Childcare & Education Maidstone is located only 8km north-west of the Melbourne CBD. Our newly refurbished long day care centre is a convenient choice for families seeking high-quality care close to home, or on the way to the city for work. Our day care in Maidstone is ideally located for families in surrounding suburbs including Braybrook, Maribyrnong, Avondale Heights and Footscray.

Our Maidstone childcare centre offers:

  • Quality learning programs such as Joy of Reading, Cooking and Sustainability
  • Engaging indoor learning spaces full of quality educational resources
  • Expansive outdoor play spaces with a sandpit, bike track and veggie garden
  • On-site Chef providing fresh snacks and meals daily
  • Highly experienced Educators and degree-qualified Teachers
  • Nappies, SPF 50+ sunscreen, high-quality formula and bed linen provided
  • Extended hours of care each weekday from 6.30am to 6.30pm

The Victorian Government offers funding to provide families up to 15 hours of Free Kindergarten a week, in addition to the Childcare Subsidy. The funding offsets the fees for three and four-year-old children that are part of the centre’s long day care Kindergarten program. Families will save up to $2,101 a year for children aged three-years-old and above in eligible long day cares in 2025.

Guardian Maidstone child care centre boasts a range of exciting, resource-rich environments, including a 'light and reflection' room, expansive community garden, pets, and a worm farm and compost system. Our centre is light-filled with three large outdoor spaces specifically designed for each age group, as well as an art learning space.

Programs

The centre programs revolve around the interests and skills of the children. The educators take a personalised approach to get to know each child, their needs and what interests them most. They then tailor the program to match.

With a mix of structured and unstructured play, the educators embed important foundational learning and skills throughout the day. What may seem like fun and play to the children or even to an outside observer, the educators carefully plan activities with real learning benefits. Whether it’s counting the chairs to put out at lunch or practising social skills through dress up play, the children are always growing, learning and developing.

Community is also a strong focus in the program. The educators make the most of their community connections to plan engaging incursions and excursions for the children to enjoy. This enhances their sense of belonging as they develop an understanding of the world around them.
