Just wanted to raise something that a few local families have been talking about regarding Amiga Montessori in Greenvale on Palmyra Street. First off, this is not about race or culture. We are all part of the wider Australian community here unless you are Aboriginal. Most of us came from somewhere else at some point, and Greenvale has always been a beautiful, close knit suburb because of that mix. But there has been a growing concern around bullying, hitting, and aggressive behaviour between some of the kids at the centre, and honestly, it is upsetting hearing what some children are experiencing at such a young age. No child is born bad. Kids are innocent and they learn from the environment around them. That is exactly why it is so important for both parents and schools to step in early and teach that hurting, intimidating, or bullying others is simply not acceptable. We really need to move away from the whole “kids will be kids” mindset when another child’s wellbeing is affected. What is even more disappointing is that many parents feel educators are either overwhelmed or turning a blind eye at times, and the administration keeps making promises that do not seem to lead to real change. If there are not enough staff to properly supervise and support the children, then more educators need to be hired, and not just more staff for the sake of numbers, but genuinely caring and attentive educators who actually prioritise children’s wellbeing. Greenvale is a lovely community and I think most of us want to keep it that way. We should all be working together to create a safe and respectful environment for our kids from the earliest age possible, because those lessons carry through into primary school, high school, and beyond. Hopefully Amiga’s administration takes these concerns seriously and starts listening to the families who have been raising these issues for quite some time now.

If I could give this centre less than 1 star I would. This centre completely failed my nephew and my family. The level of neglect, safety issues, and lack of accountability is unacceptable for any childcare service. Communication is terrible. Important matters were either ignored or brushed off, and when concerns were raised, there was no ownership, no follow-up, and no care. It felt like once fees were paid the wellbeing no longer mattered. The environment felt unsafe, unprofessional, and poorly managed. I would never recommend this centre to any parent who values their child’s safety and emotional wellbeing. If you are considering enrolling here — don’t. There are far better centres that actually take responsibility for the children in their care.

My nephew looks as if he has come out of war zone when he leaves AMIGA Montessori Greenvale, with no accountability, dismissive and unempathic staff. Do your child a favour, and don't walk, run from this place.

We absolutely love Amiga Montessori Greenvale! My son started 4 year old Kindergarten just three weeks ago, and we have been blown away by the welcoming and nurturing environment. The children are so kind and friendly, and they immediately made him feel like he belonged. ​The Montessori curriculum is truly different and has made a noticeable impact. He's already learning about the days of the week, months of the year, continents, and even countries in Europe. I also love that the children are encouraged to use real items like glass jugs and porcelain plates—it's such a unique way to teach them responsibility. This has even carried over to our home, where my son is now happy to pack up his own toys. ​I especially appreciate the daily updates on Storypark, which include a detailed list of what he's eaten and what he's learned that day. We also receive weekly and monthly curriculum outlines, which keeps us in the loop about his education. The staff are incredible; every person we've spoken to has been genuinely happy and willing to give us a detailed rundown of his day. The chef has even made special adjustments to help with my son's picky eating. ​It's clear that the entire team is dedicated to helping every child thrive. We are so grateful to have found such a wonderful place for our son.

My daughter has been attending Amiga for over 2 years and in that time the team have become part of our "village", almost like extended family! She has formed special bonds with many of the educators and they have always gone above and beyond to make sure she feels happy, safe and settled when in their care. The centre has extra activities that make it more fun for the kids like music and sport sessions, regular visits with animals like baby chickens and the kids just love having something different to look forward to and learn about. I also appreciate the effort that goes into maintaining the cleanliness of the centre.

My daughter has just started childcare this year and has been such a smooth and easy transition. She has learnt so much already and Teachers have been absolutely wonderful! All love what they do! Thank you so much team!

I cannot fault Amiga Montessori Greenvale! My daughter has been attending since she was 1yo (now 2.5yo) and she has absolutely thrived! The staff are all professional and so caring and my daughter thinks of them as family! The management staff are so incredibly helpful and are so friendly and easy to talk to. Any issues and rectified straight away and I am so comfortable bringing up any issues with them. I cannot recommend then enough!!

It's our third year, and my son is currently in four-year-old kindergarten and loves it. The kindergarten program has provided him with the self-esteem, social skills, manners, and academics he needs to prepare for next year's school. His confidence has improved since we started at Amiga Montessori Greenvale. The educators are doing a wonderful job keeping activities consistent and coordinating schedules each week. Each child receives so much individual attention. I am so happy and grateful for all the staff and especially his teachers. I can't thank them enough.
