Children's Day 2018
This week, Saturday 4 August is the 2018 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day, organised by the Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care (SNAICC).

The theme for this year's Children's Day is SNAICC - Celebrating Our Children for 30 Years.
The Future is Flexible
Session Care & Fee Information

The introduction of the Child Care Subsidy makes it easier to offer flexible and session-based education and care, and a growing number of services within the CareforKids.com.au community have already embraced this innovative approach.

To support early childhood providers offering session-based care we have enhanced our system to enable you to post session options, including duration, fees and hourly rates.

We are confident this enhancement will increase the uptake of sessional care among parents and work to reduce your vacancy rates.

Remember, transparency around fee information is an important consideration for parents when choosing care, and maintaining comprehensive, up-to-date fee information is an effective strategy for securing new enrolments.
Waste reduction ideas you can start now
According to the NSW Environment Protection Agency (EPA), the average waste bin of an early childhood service is comprised of 30 per cent food waste and 25 per cent paper, cardboard and plastic.

This means that more than 50 per cent of the contents of child care rubbish bin could be redirected away from landfill, with a few simple strategies.

If you are interested in building more sustainable practices in your service and role modelling more environmentally friendly ways of operating, for parents, children and other services, then there's plenty of easy things you can do … starting now!
